Part of good healthcare is a fair price. Cost/benefit is undeniably part of the good healthcare equation. It is reckless for a physician to be ignorant of costs and order expensive tests without prior authorization of the patient. Especially when there are cheaper alternatives. A patient does not consent to give a blank check to a physician.

Dr. Balbort cared for my children for 6 years and I was always pleased with her knowledge, professionalism, and bedside manner. We've moved out of the area and I will miss having the services of Dr. Balbort and her staff. We never had any difficulty getting appointments when needed and wait times in the exam rooms were usually reasonable.

I believe Dr. Balbort is probably an excellent pediatrician for infants and young children. However, my issue is with her treatment of older children. My daughter was a patient and the last 4 attempts we made to schedule an appointment to examine her ears or throat we were told to go to Convenient Care. Apparently she was only seeing infants because she was catching up from being out of town. These 4 attempts to be seen were within a few short months of each other. We will be switching ASAP.

I am disgusted with this whole office. They refused to make any effort to see my sick child with a rash spreading on his face. At only 4yrs of age and no history of face rashes he should have been seen that day. I asked the nurse if they could squeeze him on 4 different phone calls. She kept telling me there's nothing they can do and at one point told me its because they have lives outside of work and cant stay late to see him. WE were referred to 2 different places which are not creditable for caring for children or anyone in my opionon. If you are looking for a great Dr and staff I recommend going to anyone at OSF in Morton Il. fyi there has been more then one istance of refusing to my sick child. A concusion and 103 fever to name a couple more.
