List of Daniel Olney's Reviews
Dr. Olney would not recommend a 2nd MRI after my surgery to see if inflammation was gone and treatment worked. I talked to other people that had sinus surgery and they said a 2nd MRI after their surgery was recommended and standard practice. Kathy from their finance department said they do not provide the costs for treatments upfront to their patients. How does a patient know what to expect and if they can afford it? And it took two months for their office to get approval from Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Such a great level of care and integrity. I’d lose my tonsils all over again.
I'm posting this in regards to my husband. Dr Onley was my husband's ear doctor several years and he's had hearing issues and numerous tests done. I finally met him a couple of months ago and wasn't impressed. After a couple of weeks I told my husband my thoughts and he agreed with me. Long story short he now has a new ENT in Davenport and found out more from them in one visit then what Dr Onley ever told him about his ear problems.
Dr. Olney sewed up and saved my ear at 4am in the ER a few years ago. He did an excellent job and is very nice!
DR OLNEY LISTENED ATTENTIVELY AS I EXPLAINED MY SYMTOMS, HAVING COME TO HIS OFFICE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN EXTREME DISTRESS HE OFFERED A PLAN OF CARE WHICH HAS HELPED CONSIDERABLY, WE, CONTINUE TO EXPLORE OPTIONS AS MY CONDITION CONTINUES TO BE PAINFUL.
Dr. Olney allows his staff at ENT Medical Services to disrespect his patients. His staff failed to secure insurance authorization for a procedure that was scheduled weeks in advance. The staff did not submit the request for authorization from Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield until two business days before the procedure was to be performed. The staff then attempted to place the blame for the fact that I missed work to go to a procedure that was not preauthorized on the insurance company. When I called the insurance company and got the facts straight the staff still claims that it did nothing wrong and will not change the way it coordinates insurance authorization requests. Daniel defended his staff's blunders by blaming it on insurance companies that demand too much information. I am glad Blue Cross Blue Shield demands accountability from this private company with its own lab. Likewise, Daniel should account for his staff. But beyond everything else, the patient should demand accountability from both the medical provider as well as the insurance company.
Wow, I had similar experiences to the above two. Now I know its not just me. I too work in the medical field.
Extremely unpleasant experience. Coming from a background in the healthcare field, I have never been treated so rudely and unprofessionally as Shawn (staff under Dr. Olney) treated me. Hostile responses to legitimate medical questions is not the appropriate reaction to a patient.
I have been treated by Dr. Olney for several years now, for a variety of issues. The most recent being sinusitis. He's not only a great doctor, but a good man. He got me through a very painful period of sinus troubles with treatment. To follow came endoscopic sinus surgery. I couldn't have been more pleased with his skills and knowledge base. His bedside manor is professional, yet very personable and comforting. I am out of state for the winter months and have been experiencing parathyroid issues. I will return to Iowa soon to be seen by Dr. Olney.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
