Psychiatric Associates is such an amazing place to be a part of! It’s a place of safety and connection. A play where the hope is that both patients and staff feel supported in their goals. When we were acquired by Nystrom there were so many bumps and hurdles, but I keep watching this company become healthier and happier. I’m really grateful to be a part of it. Nothing is ever perfect, but I love being a part of a place that strives to grow and learn for the purpose of helping and serving anyone who comes through our doors.
I can't even begin to properly convey how problematic my short time with PA has been, but I'll try. I underwent ADHD testing in February, and I was diagnosed officially, as well as with social anxiety and rejection sensitive dysphoria. The provider was thoughtful, on time and generally competent. Then it all went horribly wrong. As part of my treatment, I was referred to a therapist and a prescriber, both within the PA system. I first had my appointment with the therapist. I showed up on time, checked in, and waited. There was a sign at reception saying that if you have not been called back 10 minutes after the appointment start time, to let them know. At the 10 minute mark, I flagged them down, and they said that they would call the therapist again. Ten minutes later, she had still not come out even though reception kept calling her. My anxiety went through the roof, and I ended up leaving without ever being seen. I was rescheduled with another therapist, who then canceled my appointment the day before. I was rescheduled for 2 weeks later. My session was...weird. I believe the purpose of therapy is to allow the patient to talk, but the therapist seemed to make it a game to try to finish my sentences before I could. In the meantime, I have been receiving paper invoices when I specifically directed that for privacy purposes any billing statements be emailed or texted. HIPAA allows a patient to direct the format communications come in, and PA have completely disregarded my wishes. Both visits were denied by my insurance because the primary reason for the visits was noted as something completely different from the actual purpose. I'm not sure if it was a play to get more reimbursement, but it seems awfully shady. I requested both be resubmitted, and only one has, despite my repeated requests. Time is running out on the resubmission, so it looks like I'm going to be out several hundred dollars. I requested a refill of medication through Amazon pharmacy, which I have used for years. Amazon attempted to contact PA many times and they never responded, resulting in my having to go without my medication. Thankfully, I was able to explain the situation to my GP and he called in a script for me. They STILL have not called Amazon back. Another prescription was called into the wrong pharmacy, one that I do not have a relationship with so it took a while to get to the bottom of where it was sent and why no one called me about it. I called 11 days ago to speak to them about all the issues and the resubmission for insurance. I was told someone would get back to me that day as it was a priority. No call back. Ever. I called today to speak to them about the ongoing issues. I was told I would speak with a member of management. After being on hold for a lengthy period, I hung up. That was 3 hours ago and now the office has closed. Please stay far away. I wish I had. This level of incompetence, particularly with mental health services, would be laughable if it were not so damaging.
When I turned 65 they quit seeing me. Turned into a mess medication wise.
Alyssa Wood was super helpful with the fact that I did not want to do this in the first place. She made it very painless and actually somewhat enjoyable to do. I would highly recommend her to anyone else
I came here for ADHD testing in September 2018. The provider I saw (Dr O'Rourke) is fantastic. The staff is not. They mishandled my appointment times on several different occasions, and were incredibly rude about rescheduling. Once again: this was a mistake *they* made. They have also mishandled correspondence from my insurance company, billing me incorrectly for payments that had already been settled. They need to do some sort of office-wide re-training of the staff. Two stars because Dr O'Rourke saved my experience.
Whitney and the others gals are super friendly and easy to deal with. I highly recommend this place.
Staff helpfulness is hit or miss depending on who you get. Got a new job and new insurance. Insurance said a certain doctor was covered, receptionist said he was not at this location. Fine, I could work with that. She said I needed to pay out of pocket or a bill could be sent. No problem. Received no bills for six months after having asked for the paper copy so I could work with my insurance on it. Sorry, not going to hound a company for a bill to be sent to me. Is that a good idea? Probably not. Regardless, I finally got the first paper copy two weeks ago and had questions. Have been playing phone tag with voicemails to them and have a solid 2-4 days response time. One phone number to call through and be directed to people in two facilities. No other way I am aware of to call someone directly except their single contact number and voicemails most of the time. No email accessibility at all that I am aware of. I finally got a response from possibly the only helpful person there on two of three costs that made sense. Still waiting on call back from CEO (4 days at this point) about the one of three different codes on my bill that even the billing manager could not explain. Overall, when things are going good here, they are great. When problems come up, you may not be so impressed. I certainly am not.
I've seen Dr. Wiebel for years and she has always been a great help. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because recently they've opened a separate branch and still only have one phone line. This occasionally makes calling them a bit frustrating. Overall excellent practice that you can trust.
I've been a client of Psychiatric Associates for nearly 2 1/2 decades. Without their care, I wouldn't have a fulfilled life while living with bipolar disorder. The doctors have always listened to my concerns, and if necessary, adjusted my treatment accordingly. The staff is friendly and capable. Whether you need counseling of any kind, medication, or both, there is a doctor to meet your needs.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
