Most amazing medical experience ever! Incredible doctor and staff!
I have seen Dr Hanssen several times and he scoped my knee once in October. I really like him and he fixed a botched knee surgery from a different surgeon. I've never had to wait long to see him and he is always straight forward and to the point. I had such bad experience with my first knee surgery from another surgeon and when he told me I needed surgery again I was really apprehensive at first. He reassured me he could fix it, and he did.
Went to him for a fractured right shoulder, had surgery, Dr. Hanssen =, I feel, did do a great job. afterwards went to Physical Therapy and that is where the problem began. His office employee, Samantha was rude and unprofessional when I called to have my pain medication changed. The Physical Therapist recommended that I take the pain medication prior to each session and when the therapist saw that I was in extreme pain even after taking what Dr. Hanssen had prescribed the suggestion was to call Dr. Hanssen to request a stronger prescription so that I can continue my therapy. When calling Dr. Hanssen's Office, his employee answered, Samantha, and not only did she not allow me to take to Dr. Hanssen, she accused me as being a drug addict., at which point, I had a few choice words for her. she absolutely refused to allow me to talk to Dr. Hanssen and refused to allow any pain medication to be prescribed. Her suggestion was to go to a Pain Management specialist. A few moments after that conversation, the office manager called me and told me that I would never be allowed to go back to Dr. Hanssen's office. I tried to explain what Samantha has told me but to no avail. I also told this manager that I had my fist post-op follow-up appointment with Dr. Hanssen coming up and the Manager told me I would not be allowed back to the office. Wow, I was abandoned right after surgery and during my physical therapy by his office. Totally lost and still in lots of pain. He seems to be a good surgeon but because of his staff and in particular, Samantha and the Office Manager I cannot ever recommend him to anyone. What a shame...
Just the best orthopedic surgeon in Texas.Treated me with respect very thorough and saved my foot.Staff very professional and have a sense of humor which is a plus.Recommend him to any friends that need orthopedic care or surgery.
To me it is a reflection of how a doctor is by the way he and his staff conducts there business of care for patients, I first went to see Dr.Hanson I had with me the labs that in an imaging and a MRI with a full schedule of xrays, I walked in with them the nurse took them from me mad a few crass jokes I did not think was funny. when I go the the Doctor I expect a professional environment and I did not feel that from the Nurse as well the Dr.. she sat the labs on the desk and the Doc walked in and said put your arms out in front of you he pushed down I let my right arm release due to the pain and he said you need a rotate cuff surgery, I said don't u want to look at the labs I spent more than 3 grand on he said he will look at them later. and I left I knew one thing I would not feel confident this guy would cut me open. a week later I called to get my Labs for a 2nd opinion and she said she did not have then an employee miss filed and did not have them told my attorney they gave to me not true.
He was very nice when my husband came with me, altho he gave me bad advice for my broken ankle. When I went back without my husband to tell him I was worse, he was very condescending and disrespectful. He did not admit he gave me wrong advice. He treated me like I wasn't worth his time. I doubt he knew I was a doctor also.
He and his staff were awesome, and every time I have needed to come in, they have gone out of their way to make sure either myself or someone in the waiting room is accommodated. The doctor has a great bedside manner and follows up with care, utilizes his office staff by making sure I am getting my follow up appointments after MRI early enough etc. There is no red tape in this office, as patient centered care is most important. My adult son also needs on going care, and I he also feels that he receives great care from this doctor and office, unlike most.
Very knowledgeable, but have ongoing problems from a total knee replacement. While I recommend him, I have decided against having the other knee replaced for fear of more ongoing problems. I required a synovectomy after the replacement, which he performed. His office staff did not schedule a post surgical appointment to have my stitches removed. They said I should have scheduled my own post surgical appointment. While the 2009 office staff did have thumbs, I'm not sure they were human.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
