I had a pelvic exam. I was not asked permission, just told I was going to have one. After the doctor put on her gloves she immediately lifted my sheet as I'm sitting on the exam table to look at me, then pushed the sheet up to fully expose me as I laid on my back and scooted to the end or the table. The doctor did not inform me of what she would be doing or when, and seemed to presume that because I am polyamorous an STD must be the cause of my symptoms and was very vocal about "huh, no open wounds... And everything looks fine and healthy..." Then without warning the brush was shoved into my cervix. Being a victim of rape and sexual abuse this was extremely traumatic and invasive. I was nearly in tears on the exam table. After she left she was again very adamant to not be surprised if it was an STD. For the record my cultures for an STD came back negative. I have never had a pelvic exam like this before and it was absolutely trauma inducing.

She is thorough and very pleasant and calming. She works at a walk in clinic and I have seen her 5 times.
