List of Allendorf John's Reviews
Dr. Allendorf treated my 21 year old daughter for a rare pancreatic tumor. He was amazing in his care for her and he was attentive, thorough and caring. I appreciated the fact that the entire hospital staff that we were ever in contact with said for sure they would use him for any family member who needed his care and we spoke to another patient's family who traveled from Georgia to NY for their daughter's cancer treatment. I can't say enough about Dr. Allendorf!
Dr Allendorf performed my surgery to take out my left thyroid because of a large goiter, he did a excellent job!!! Everything went well I came home the same day after my surgery I will refer patients to him he is excellent and talented, thank you for such great care Dr Allendorf
I had surgery with Dr Allendorf for a goiter that I had on my left thyroid, the goiter was so big that it started to have symptoms of choking with range of motion, he did my surgery and I am so glad that my dr chose him for my care, he did a excellent job and my scar is hardly noticeable. I am so excited no more choking symptoms and I feel great. thanks to Dr Allendorf .
I had a huge toxic goiter and 12 thyroid nodules causing me to be Hyperthyroidism.. I had no choice but to have a complete Thyroidectomy. This being they had to remove it ALL. My endocrinologist gave me 3 names of Specialist in the field. I choose Dr. Allendorf. He did an amazing job and my scar after 2 weeks is hardly noticeable. The nurses in the hospital told me that I was in good hands as Dr. Allendorf was fantastic .. And I agree. I am a 61 year old healthy women and was a little stressed about having the surgery. And now I feel like a new women and Thanks to Dr. Allendorf

Dr. Allendorf saved my life..... Thank you and God Bless!
I ultimately decided to choose another surgeon because I came to him with hyperparathyroidism and with stabbing neck pain and a fever from what later turned out to be a raging infection in my throat.(They routinely take your temperature before you see the doctor here.) You really don't want a big mess going on in your throat when you're planning parathyroid surgery. But he wasn't interested, didn't look(then why take the patient's temperature?), and didn't recommend a doctor who could help me. Total focus on the conveyor-belt of booking and doing operations. In the informational material he gave out, they tell you that after the surgery, any follow-up visits will be strictly limited to, to the best of my recollection, 15 minutes. Really? When I postponed my surgery date due to a still out of control infection, the surgical booker just said listlessly, "Yeah, well, I guess you wouldn't want to do that. OK, call me when you want to." When I saw what others had written here, especially about the surgeon running out of time to finish the op so the patient had to go back for another one, I thanked heavens for Vitals.com and those who write reviews and looked for another surgeon. The next surgeon I found took his time, examined me, offered to send me to an ENT (a fine one) and did a careful, caring removal of my bad parathyroid. I liked Dr. Allendorf; it's a pity the man's in such a rush. That frightened me away. Patients are stars, too, Dr. A.
Good no great, attentive staff, overall impressed with knowledge and surgical skill

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
