List of Gottesman Malcolm's Reviews
I was a MS patient of Dr.Gottesman and though he seems somewhat knowledgeable he lacks bedside manner and empathy . He seemed to disbelieve anything I told him regarding symptoms including the fact I suffered from chronic pain something which a lot of people diagnosed with MS have . It made it difficult to feel as if I was being listened to and understood . He only cared about pushing certain drugs despite the side effects I was having . I finally made a decision to never return when I saw him shortly after my son passed away unexpectedly and I broke down in tears while telling him and his response was to stop and stop acting emotionally . Myself and the family member with me were stunned . To make matters worse he than told me I HAD to take some new medication or else they’d make me come in . The social worker employed there looked at me as if she felt horrible but didn’t say a thing . I decided to never go back . I suspect a robot would have more emotion if it were capable . I was extremely distraught and had a massive flare shortly after which he than tried to accuse me of faking . It was one of the most horrible moments in my life .
Since the first day I started as a patient of Dr Malcolm Gottesman the Doctor has been very caring and helpful. He and his Staff have attended diligently to my M.S. concerns, and his attentiveness prevented a couple of M.S. relapses from progressing further. The Doctor has kept on top of my situation, suggesting remedies that, at first, I may have found hard to accept, but were DEFINATELY in my best interest. His advise has always proven very valuable. Even as my M.S. unexpectedly progresses (it is the nature of the beast), he knows the necessary avenues I must take for my sake, and the sake of my family. To say the least, his knowledge and compassion is tempered with great wisdom, and I will always be grateful for those qualities. His Office Staff has also stood on top of my supply of medicines to ensure that I do not run out, thus preventing a catastrophic situation. I am lucky to have found this Doctor, and God willing will be able to remain in his care for years to come.
Dr. Gottesman is compassionate, takes a sufficient amount of time with patient, is not an alarmist and after review of tests, recommended a stroke doctor for further evaluation. He provided explanations 4 other neurologists didn't.
I agree with the last post. Although multiple sclerosis is a very complicated disease it s even more complicated finding a neurologist that takes the time to listen to his patients and most importantly, a neurologist that knows how to visually read and interpret an MRI himself. Dr. Gottismann only reads the MRI Reports from outside facility s. Doesn t even call to discuss new lesions, nothing. Just a prescription writer.
I visited Dr.Gottesman for the first time yesterday. He had great bedside manner, reassuring, confident and appeared very caring. I went to him regarding a second opinion. Appeared knowledgeable.
The first neurologist who actually requested the necessary results. I finally received an MS diagnosis after over 3.5 years. He's very thorough and listens to all of your concerns. He makes me feel like I'm more than just a patient and that my symptoms aren't all in my head (no pun intended). Brilliant.
The Doctor is a Great Neurologist
I was diagnosed with MS and Dr. Gottesman was recommended as a specialist in the field. When I arrived, it seemed the staff was highly disorganized. A patient who showed up an hour late for their appointment was taken ahead of me. In the middle of my appointment, Dr. Gottesman had me wait in the hall while he saw another patient. He gave me no guidance in treatments or medication. I felt like I was on a conveyor belt. No concern for my well-being.
Worst office I've ever had the experience dealing with. Disorganized, negligent. Calling at 5pm the day before an infusion to let me know they screwed up with getting authorization is unacceptable. How they were only working on it last minute is beyond me. They are not even in touch with infusion center which is another joke in itself. Stay far away!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
