Heartplace Plano's Online Review Report Card

Five stars for HeartPlace and me since they fixed my heart problem. I was referred here after my primary care doctor noticed a heart problem. I was feeling fine with no symptoms. It seems I was asymptomatic but definitely had a problem. Scheduling was easy and I took advantage of filling out the new patient forms online before my first visit. The HeartPlace uses a patient portal system to communicate between patient/doctor. I used it as a private email system with the doctors and nurses.  Reception/checkout was courteous and cordial on all my visits. Currently they require all staff and patients to wear a mask and check your temp when you arrive. The doctors met me at the scheduled time as the clinic is run in an efficient manner. To fix my problem it was necessary to conduct a procedure at one of the hospitals that the doctor has medical privileges. I choose Medical City Plano which is closest to where I live. You can read my 5 star review of Medical City Plano on Yelp. Several weeks later I came back for a checkup and the doctors said everything is working as it should be for a 7 decade+ old heart. Another factor in dealing with all this no underlying health issues to complicate the heart work.

Dr Rikesh Patel dismissed all of my concerns. I also heard one of his staff talking to another staff about how a patient must’ve been lying about not smoking because one of their vitals was off. Didn’t seem professional to me.

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE OR DR. PATEL. My father-in-law has been a patient of Dr. Patel's for a few years now. My father-in-law is 85 years old and uses a walker. It is quite the feat to pick him up, load him in the car, unload him and get him to the third floor for his appointments. It takes 45 mins to an hour every time just in travel and loading time. In September 2020, he had an appointment with Dr. Patel and my husband took him to his office. They sat in the waiting room after checking in for 45 minutes before the front desk staff member called him up to the window and told him Dr. Patel would not be able to see him as he was at the hospital seeing patients. Needless to say, we were not happy since it is not easy to get him to these appointments. We have a dental practice and we had rearranged our schedule to accommodate the appointment. We asked his staff to have Dr. Patel call us concerning this and we never received a call back. We decided to try again so I called last week and spoke to the staff member and explained what had happened in September 2020. She said she was very sorry and that it was definitely unacceptable so I scheduled another appointment. The appointment was confirmed the day before and reconfirmed this morning. I went to pick up my father-in-law and headed to the office. Our appointment was at 1:45 PM. My father-in-law stood at the front desk with his walker to check in for his appointment for 15 minutes while one staff member talked on the phone and the other two were on their computers. When the staff member hung up the phone she came to my father-in-law and said, "You're not going to like me very much." She went on to say Dr. Patel would not be able to see him because he was seeing patients at the hospital. I was not happy and told her so. She said she tried to call us to let us know. I held up my phone as my number is on his record and I had no missed calls or messages. She said she was sorry and I said it was unacceptable. Further, he could have walked across the parking lot to see us as the hospital is next door. I again asked for Dr. Patel to call me concerning this, but I have yet to hear from him. When I drove my father-in-law home, I went in to check his phone and there were no missed calls or messages there either. This office staff is very unprofessional and we will not be going back.

I had an appointment for an Echocardiogram today. I checked in online and also arrived 15 minutes prior to my appointment. I had my temp checked and waited to be called back. I was the only one in the waiting room, and I waited 1 hour 15 minutes. I finally had to leave and go back to work. When I told the receptionist, her only response was "they haven't called you back yet?"

I don't know how many star I should rating for this hospital , cause two year ago on my mom birthday - my dad passed away in his ICU bed unclear to me and that strategy put me in trauma of mental health until the ending of the year  2020. after have been thought psycho mental health treatment I would like to share the story that happened to my life and hope good heart people could help to say my Mom life, she has a fighting with heart attack four days ago in Vietnam and in the small medical care center in small town in Northwest of Saigon, after a year locking down there by Covid plus her heart problem could not fly back since then. <a href="/redir?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgofund.me%2Fce38b174&amp;s=b0387e674a5c76e90176386c2ea5cbc04e8a94d44feecd032fcdc7e2831d1cbf" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">gofund.me/ce38b174</a>Please click to the link, sharing or inviting your friends to share around to make my campaign reach the goal. Dr. Dao has been my Cardiologist since he joined Heart Place. He has always been available when I needed advice and his assistant is responsive and listens to my concerns. I am most grateful to have Dr. Dao as my Cardiologist, and every person I have referred to his care has shared the same feeling. He is an extremely kind, caring, intelligent physician who never rushes through an appointment.

Having gotten to the office yet but sat on hold to schedule an appointment for 20 minutes before hanging up and calling a different office for an appointment. I don’t know about anyone else but I can’t expect great things from an office that can’t schedule an appointment.
