A wonderful surgeon. Patient, kind, not in a rush, he answered all my questions. Highly recommend. I had a vocal cord injection It closes my vocal cords for a strong voice and to close for swallowing. My CP muscle was laser cut, allowing me to swallow after 12 years.

Prior to meeting Dr. Ekbom I have had 19 surgerys on my vocal cords over the last decade. I always had a post op visit with my Dr and asked him if there was anyway he could do something a little more to give me some sort of tone. The same answer every time. He would see what he could do and almost every time left with disappointment. I found Dr. Ekbom online in Feb 2013. Read his credentials and made an appointment. I have never had a Dr. spend so much time talking to me, answering my questions, and giving me options. I was very pleased with my choice to that point. I scheduled an appointment for surgery that day. The day of my surgery Dr. Ekbom once again came by to talk to me, mind you never giving me any false hopes on the results but the fact that I could tell he actually cared about my problems gave me hope for better results than my past Dr. 24 hours after surgery I tried to hum a bit just to see if I had any tone. I did. A deep comfortable tone I havent had in years. I was so excited. The next couple days I started talking and I have the best voice I have had in 10 years. People can hear me now. I dont get headaches from trying to talk loud enough. I know the results are never the same for everyone but for me Dr.Ekbom gave me my life back. I can even sing now. Not well mind you but I have many tones to make it enjoyable. I want to say thank you very much Dr. Ekbom. Anyone who reads this will make a big mistake if you dont see Dr. Ekbom for your vocal issues.
