I received excellent care from Dr Roust. One of the most impressive Physicians I've had the pleasure to care for me. She listens, explains and had a plan for me.
I went to Dr. Roust for treatment of thyroid cancer. I had already had my thyroid removed and could not follow up with center that did surgery due to insurance change. I came to Dr. Roust with ALL of my records, all the pathology reports showing malignant thyroid cancer, the recommended radioactive iodine treatment for this. Initially she wanted me to get treatment "sooner than later" she did not mention that Mayo would need to obtain the actual slides, which took over 3 weeks because her staff was faxing the request to the wrong number. I made one phone call and the slides were sent overnight by fed ex. Mayo pathology somehow determined that the diagnosis was incorrect and that I had no cancer. I went for another opinion and was scheduled for treatment almost immediately, I will likely need another tratment, also 4 nodules were found in my neck by ultrasound that need to be biopsied, my tsh levels were above 200, she did not treat me for anything. I would never recommend this Dr.
I have been Dr. Lori Roust' Patient for 6 years now. She is knowledgeable ,caring , kind and friendly. She has always gone above and beyond in her medical care for the patient. She is very patient, explains everything and also has a good ear for listening . Ruchika Chandra

Dr. Roust told me to see a psychiatrist for my symptoms since my blood work fell in the “normal” range, and she was “done” with me. I knew that my symptoms were physical, but I went to a psychiatrist to prove it. This doctor told me that I was one of the sanest patients he’d tested and I needed to keep looking to find a real endocrinologist that would listen and keep working to find answers. Thank God I did. Dr. Lalani asked when was the last time I had an ultrasound done on my thyroid along with other important basic tests that Dr Roust should have routinely done, according to him. I finally had my first ultrasound that showed masses on both the right and left lobes of my thyroid. The second ultrasound showed that these masses were fast growing, which is uncommon and needed to be biopsied. The biopsy showed precancerous cells, so I had to have my thyroid removed. Had I waited much longer, I was told that I would have had to have chemotherapy and other treatments to combat cancer. I’ve been a Mayo patient since birth and have always volunteered for studies, which I’m proud to say led to some successful treatments for other women. I’ve grown up with many amazing Mayo staff of all levels, many being relatives, as well as many becoming “aunts and uncles” which our families stayed friends for life. I also knew Dr. Roust for many years outside of work. So, I’m very disappointed in her unethical attitude shown to me. After the stress, disrespect and misdiagnosis could have cost me my life. So, I told her that she was “fired” and would no longer be employed as a medical professional working with me on my health. Growing up in the Mayo family network, it was always stressed that in order to successfully stay healthy, doctors and patients must work as a team, both responsible to be truthful and open on all aspects. I did not find this equal ground with Dr Roust. So, I am glad I took her advice and saved my life through professionals that kept searching for answers and found them in time.
I have worked in the medical field for 20+ years and worked along side all different specialities. I've also been a patient for many years and Dr. Roust is by far the most uncaring physician. She seems to be just showing up to get a pay check rather then really caring for the patients she is blessed to care for. There are many choices for endocrinologist in the Phoenix area. I suggest going elsewhere to find a doctor that really cares for the patient.
Excellent. Dr. Roust followed my care in Mayo Clinics Bariatric Program.
Terrible doesn't explain anything or listen to you. Not helpful at all. She is in silo doesn't care about anything other than what your lab basic reads. She doesn't want to know what you as thyroid patient experiences. In a small box thinking. You have to follow up crazy and she doesn't explain anything well. Terrible even putting in lab tests. She is a malpractice nightmare. Do you know if you go to her first within Mayo you can't change doctors. They would rather see you leave. Would totally express to you don't go to her. Her office leadership worse than her.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
