List of Randy Shelerud's Reviews
I was a patient for years. Needed back surgery but he kept telling I didn’t. Had trouble walking and he laughed at me. He took my foot and bent it and told me to stand on it. I was in tears and he kept bending and pushing and pulling despite my cries and objections. Then he wrote stuff in my records that are not true and when I tried to get it corrected Mayo said they back their doctor and refused to even amend to put in my comments and what truly happened. He sent me to another doctor when I said I wanted a 2nd opinion and come to find out he had scripted to him what results to find. I finally went to a Neurosurgeon outside of Mayo and he was appalled that things were left so long. Had surgery and got some relief that Shelrud refused to offer. I’ll never trust Shelrud or his staff again M. Stone
My mother was referred to Dr Shelerud because she has been experiencing bilateral foot drop swelling and leg pain. She was hoping he might have some answers or possibly suggestions as her pain and symptoms are worsening. Instead he entered the room clearly irritated and in a very attacking manner asking her why she was here and that he can’t help her. At this point he hadn’t talked to her examiner her etc. He left the room and in the hallway thinking we couldn’t hear stating “I don’t know why she was put on my schedule” He returned to the room and said she shouldn’t be here the appointment was booked with the wrong person and he would call the referring doctor. My mother asked him why both of her feet had foot drop and he stated he didn’t know why agreed with the previous doctor and he would have to start all over with her case and he wasn’t going to do that. Finally he told her she needed to be doing more at home suggesting at this point she wasn’t doing enough.
My experiences with Dr. Randy Shelerud were not pleasant ones. It was like talking to a politician for the most part. He was very inquisitive about what i knew before he would give his opinion. After many exams physical therapy MRI many Injections Rhizotomies more injections and more exams he comes up with....there is nothing we can offer you except the pain management clinic. Randy didnt want to find the problem and fix it he just wants me to be on a constant maintenance program for pain. I suggested that he refer me to a Rheumatologist to figure out the cause of pain and he said no that will not do any good. Very frustrating spending a lot of time and resources trying to figure things out and this is what a highly educated Dr. comes up with. I would strongly recommend seeing a different Dr.SincerelyEarl Wright

Dr. Shelerud was thorough compassionate and willing to refer me to other specialists to be sure I received the most appropriate care. He has a sense of humor that he uses to put the patient at ease. An enjoyable doctor visit
This Doctor was great. I had the longest and most thorough exam ever.
He is a wonderful Doctor. I had the longest appointment of my life. He was very thorough.
Saw a surgeon who recommended surgery. Went to Dr Shelerud for second opinion. Said did not need surgery. He was incredible honest and took the time to listen.
I NEED a spinal fusion. I get to Dr.Sheleruds office. I received a letter to see a Spinal Surgeon. Resulting in seeing this guy. His attitude was abhorrent Arrogant Pompous Immature as a 12 year old. He slammed the door open when I would not Walk on my tip toes heels. It is physically impossible when your spine is broken to walk like a duck. The only thing I can say that. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. Legal Consultation is in progress as this man isnt fit to treat humans. As he was not compassionate towards my ailments and it seemed like he wanted to be exalted as Jesus our Savior because of his schooling. This man is the type to Euthanize you after he threw you under the bus. By the way he is Very Good Friends with David W. Beck. The Neurosurgeon who was caught using untested cadavers and is also known for being unable to successfully do just one fusion. People end up having three. He cant get it right the first or second time. Only GOD knows if the third time is the lucky charm. So cancel your appointments with either. And dont waste your time or risk being paralyzed seeing either of these Quacks.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
