He did a laser operation on my right eye restoring my eyesight.

Had 2 cataract surgeries (9/21 & 12/21) I am a high myopia patient. Post both surgeries, I have since had CME(rt eye), PVDs both eyes & now a retinal detachment in left! I was not fully informed of my risks associated with my myopia. I realize risks are prevalent with any surgery, but I doubt I would have done if I had been more informed (I couldn't really wear my contacts due to cataracts, but wearing & seeing with my glasses wasn't bad) my optometrist had been "HIGHLY" suggesting I do this since 2019. I also picked to have the upgrade which was an extra $1300. I knew I had astigmatism & wanted fixed. Second surgery I was charged the $1300 & was not fitted with astigmatism lens. My optometrist did not charge his fee ($200)for such because I didn't get such implant, but Dr Dudenhoffers office sent me the $1300 bill &said I was charged this because they used the machine & fitted me best way (pre the retinal detachment I WAS wearing an astigmatism lens)? DONT RUSH into surgery. Vet all!

Dr Dudenhoffer was very nice and offered answers to any questions. He followed up night of surgery and even returned my call next day when I lost my drops. I just was unaware of all potential problems. I Have had near sightedness 50 years and in last couple years, developed cataracts in both eyes. Had right eye done 9/7...was amazed at how I could see--20/20 2 days later at follow up exam with my Opthalmologist as Dr Dudenhoffer is not Dr for follow up. Recovery seemed to be going well, minus some scratchy sensation. Took steroids as prescribed and 4 weeks prior, took drops for dry eyes. But 3 weeks and 3 days post, my vision changed, as if cataract was back along with floaters (strings/dots and clear jelly like fish floaters) and flashes of light in peripheral. Knew something wasn't right and post care (again, not Dr Dudenhoffer) informed me I had developed CME- Cystoid Macular Edema or fluid on the macular. 1 out of 20 I was told develop this and seems to happen around the 3 week mark. Praying for full recovery as now I'm back on steroids... New drops of nsaids along with the restasis and less than 20/20 vision Being told minimum of a month( have read could be a year) So glad I did not have the other eye done week following, even though my long time Opthalmologist couldn't believe I didn't schedule my left eye the week after. Even asked me if it was my idea or Dr Dudenhoffers idea for me to NOT do? Day of my CME diagnosis, I said I had just been thinking about getting my left eye done and he said... Oh no.. cant do anything now! Well of course I wasn't going to now!! If this condition seems to "occur" around the 3 week mark, Drs should have patients absolutely wait. Can't imagine the what ifs if both eyes were to end up with CME. Affects quality of life to wake and live with this. Final comment....ask more questions or do more research as to possibe issues and wait if can! Dr Dudenhoffer doesn't push one way or other, again, very nice and would see him again. Wish he would have been the follow up Dr - post operative until "cleared".

I am longtime patient of Dr. Dudenhoefer. He has removed my cataracts, and have had my corneal transplant several years ago. I need a 2nd corneal transplant and I wish to have Dr. Dudenhoefer handle the operation.

Very thorough and knowledgeable, AND caring and patient at the same time! Promptly returned call with post op question after hours.

He is very people oriented and professional at the same time. Truly a class act!
