List of Carol Roge Md's Reviews
Wonderful Doctor who pays attention to the details of a patient's health issues. Knowledgeable, Compassionate.
If I could give 1 star I would... worst doctor experience my wife has ever had.
Would never recommend.
I began seeing Carol as a teenager. She was a friend of my Dad's as well as his doctor. She most memorably gave me the birth control, Norplant which involves a small surgical procedure. I liked her so much, and she is such a good doctor. She diagnosed my Dad twice with Melanoma, and she cried when she told him. She cared. Ever since I have been looking for a doctor who has such a breadth of knowledge mixed with compassion and it is extremely hard to find. I would recommend Dr. Roge to anyone and everyone.
Dr. Roge has been my primary doctor my whole life. Sometimes she's wonderful and helps great, other times she's super strict and kind of comes off mean. Lately she's been more mean. Don't ask her for any type of painkiller; she won't give them to you. Even if you have liver disease and fractured spinal disks and funky bruises on your legs from the fluid you carry around, she won't help you. Which really sucks. Makes you wonder what part of your body you have to break to even get an iBprofin out of her.She NEVER speaks to you on the phone unless she wants you to go to the hospital. Oh, and her office sucks for returning phone calls. She pretty much just sits in the room with you and types of her computer the whole time. Like, doesn't even give you eye contact. Really annoying. But her nurses are super nice and it's a very nice and clean facility.
Front desk staff leaves much to be desired; often short and seem to be very disorganized. I have, several times, picked up controlled medication prescriptions (must pick up prescriptions in person and hand deliver to pharmacy) and upon delivering to pharmacy find that the prescriptions were not processed properly (not signed by Dr. or for incorrect quantity...) and I would have to make a trip back to Dr. office -which usually required me to wait for Dr. to be available to sign/correct prescription- and again return to pharmacy. Front desk staff seemed to be offended that I returned and ask for prescription to be signed/corrected. Once had one of front desk staff say "well you should check it before you leave, it's not my fault you didn't check it" to which I replied -" you and this office are supposed to be the professionals I feel it is your responsibility to make sure patient care and requirements including correct prescription needs are met". Not sure if this is Dr's, Nurses, or front desk error but I would think that before prescription is given to patient it would be reviewed to make sure correct. Needless to say, I now always check prescription before I leave office. Once you get past the front desk time spent with Dr. Roge and her professional staff all is great. Her nurses, pa's and phlebotomist are all very friendly , caring, and professional. Dr. Roge herself is great and seems to really care; always takes her time and never rushes. She listens and asks good questions, discusses options and values patient input and needs. She has a friendly and down to earth personality and is not afraid to laugh and/or get teary eyed with patient. As far as her dress (mentioned as a negative in other reviews) I feel that her casual attire helps lessen separation between Dr & patient, she is on the same level and makes it easier to relate to. I want my Dr. to be a professional, but I also want to feel comfortable with them and not feel intimidated in any way!
The only person Dr. Roge is good for is one who just goes for antibiotics a few times a year. Anyone with any kind of long term health condition, and especially if you are wanting to take charge of your own health, should not see her. She does not listen to your questions and/or concerns. I was VERY unhappy while under her care. I did however love the office staff. I was sad to have to leave them. :(
She seems to be on vacation for a week or weeks very often. 5 out of 4 times in the past when I tried to make an appointment with her, she was on vacation for the whole week if not longer. She seems to be professional, but I prefer my doctors dress professional attires like a doctor, not someone on vacation or shopping at the mall. I'm looking for a new doctor.
Dr. Roge and her staff were very professional and courteous. She has a delightful demeanor with patients and I value and trust her opinion. I encountered no delays getting in or upon arrival and when I left a message my call was promptly returned.
Great staff and great doc. I love their new webportal that allows me to check my lab results and email the clinic by internet. I went to 2 other docs in Sioux City before I found Dr. Roge and she is the best!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
