He is very thorough and not afraid to have you get a second opinion. He tells it like it is and isn't going to do a procedure that will not benefit you. The staff at the pain clinic is very caring and helpful.

Very short and poor mannerism, does not explain procedures well, does not explain if you rate your after procedure pain at less than 60% he will not proceed. Staff seems eager to get you out the door. After bringing up my concerns he told me to go elsewhere for care. Plus had to do it in person, had to drive 40 miles to get told to go elsewhere. Poorest bedside manner I have encountered in 45 years of medicine. Really set my PYSD on fire. Thanks for nothing. Would be very careful here. I would never refer anyone else here under any conditions. Very annoying text messaging and auto call system just peppers a person with appointment call. Seems they never answer the phone, always let it go to voicemail.

He seems knowledgeable but the communication between his nurses and himself severely compromises the patient.

I has taken over a week (and still waiting) for Dr. Hawkins to communicate to his nurses about increased pain after a procedure he performed. Inconsiderate and frustrating.

Dr. Hawkins is a poor listener because he confident he knows everything and what the patient says doesn't seem to count. Admittedly, I brought a very rare condition to him for help with the pain and he discounted my diagnosis made by several specialists and made his own diagnosis and wanted to treat according to his diagnosis. I let him have his way once. It served no benefit. Second visit, he heard part of the symptoms I'm experiencing and jumped to extremes. Just doesn't listen.Not recommended
