I was very impressed with everybody I spoke with making my first appointment, arriving for my first appointment and meeting Dr. Poock. Everybody was extremely nice and I love the idea of having a primary provider plus the option of a walk in clinic for those times when you can’t wait for an appointment! I appreciate a handshake that doesn’t treat a woman like a weakling! Kudos to that!

Dr. Poock is a breath of fresh air in the medical community. He speaks plain language and uses common sense. During the two times I have been seen by him, it is obvious that he is deeply interested in treating the patient as a person, and making sure their questions are answered. I first saw him when I contracted Covid (the delta variant, I presume) and was pretty sick. Rather than just send me home and tell me to wait it out, he was willing to prescribe a treatment that had an immediate, positive effect. I went to see him again for an annual physical and was pleasantly surprised to be treated as a person rather than just another body to move through the system in an assembly line. If you're dissatisfied with your health care provider or are looking for a new one, give Dr. Poock a try.

If you are someone who is taking the COVID pandemic seriously, do not go to this office. Even though Iowa has a fairly high transmissibility rate right now, masks were optional and not a single doctor or staff member were wearing one (even when patients were). I was shocked by this behavior, especially given that it’s a doctor’s office with people who presumably understand the science and have seen the health impacts of COVID. The doctors, nurses, and office staff are nice and easy to work with….but given their stance on COVID precautions, I may be looking for a new place if I have to go back before this pandemic is over.

I called this office while I had covid and couldn't get in to my regular Dr, they got me in the next day. I had been to Urgent Care and told they were sure I didn't have it, but didn't want to test me. Went to Convenient Care, where I did get a rapid test and was positive and was given a steroid. I was very sick still, I was told they couldn't do more for me. I had heard Dr Poock could help Covid patients, so I decided to go try. His entire staff was great. I was given meds that began helping right away. I have now switched to this office for primary care and referred several others here as well.

Went in for a spur of the moment covid test and had my two kids with me (4 yr old and 2 yr old). Since it was a rapid test, we had to wait for the results, my kids were over wiating and bouncing off the walls, getting into everything, and just not listening. All the nurses enertained them and were not phased one bit by my crazy kids. When Dr. Poock came in he was wonderful. He included my kids in the appts, made jokes with them, gave them attention and was not phased by them being off the wall. My kids loved him and so did I. We will definetly use him again.

I have had Dr Poock for my family Dr since 2012 and my parents and aunts and uncles before then so when I say family I mean my whole family.. he is the best. He listens to people. He is straight up with his patients on all things that are going on with them. He understands people, easy to talk to . He helps them and way he can. I would recommend Dr Poock to anyone .

The office staff were so kind and gracious. They not only got me in last minute but my daughter who I brought along with me. They didn’t bat an eye when I asked if she could possibly get see as well. They were so kind and friendly.Dr. Poock was AMAZING!! He was very informational and personal. He made you feel like he cared about you and has known you his whole life. He also spoke in a way we could understand what and why we were feeling the way we were. He explained his thoughts and reasoning and the best treatment options to help us feel better.I would highly recommend his care to anyone. He really cares about people and that is nice.

Doctor listened carefully to the patient, provided a thorough evaluation, gave an accurate diagnosis, and prescribed appropriate steps. He gave options for referral if the issue needs specialized testing. Doctor and nurse exhibit an empathetic approach. Reception area and staff are welcoming and the evaluation room feels more like a living room than a practitioner’s cubicle. This hybrid approach to family practice and urgent care is an outstanding model for medical care.
