Terrible
Not a doc I would send anyone to.
Sub standard care because scheduling is miserable and any appointment with Minot even 15 min will result in an hour at least. This office has too many patients for its overworked doctors because I think dr. Minot needs a group therapy session or retraining for attitude adjustments how to deal with stress.and the public Till then he is a mean and unpredictably touchy personOffice never calls back and if they do its with an attitude and very little help You WILL NEVER speak to a human being ever and if they feel like it u might get a call in a few days. This doctor never tested lithium levels and I spent the night in er 18 hrs with lithium poisoning and almost had to have dialysis or suffer possible destruction of kidneys not so much as a apology from my trusted doc. Because of this docs decision to Never screen me for medications dispersed has cost me a second mental health med monitor One time in over 12 years I can remember a test is was maybe 5 yrs ago. Doc stated he was under investigation by state or had problems with professional standards I cant remember which or exactly the reason , but he asked me to go to hospital after apt for U/A and The blood draw so he could use in his defense or response to the state which by the way was all accurate. Because of his failure to document by med intake properly I am now embroiled in the fight of a lifetime against new provider because of outdated and inaccurate testing.
Its very difficult to actually see a psychiatrist in Maine. Usually, other agencys provide a PA or NP. Dr. Minot is an eccentric personality and is not really in the buisness of providing Therapy. Other members of the team provide this, such as a psychologist or LCSW. Primarily, psychiatrist provide pharmacological intervention and monitoring. I am extremely confident in the care provided and enjoy my appointments with him.
Status quo style provider not usually interested in spending quality time with patient in terms of balanced conversation. Very eager to provide Rx but squirms when refills need authorization. Obvious low morale within office for nurse and receptionist and lack of respect overall for their own mission statement clearly in view in the waiting area. No physician of private practice would survive in business with policies like these, therefore the likely cause is systemic failure at Maine General.
He goes wildly off-topic and gets upset when you bring the conversation back to YOU and why you're there.
The best doctor that I have ever met. He is patient, caring and very attentive. A brilliant man & very responsive to my needs.
Dr. Minot is a wonderful doctor- very smart and researches medications before prescribing. He will be honest with you. Very compassionate. I think he is the best psychiatrist in the area.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
