Electing to have multi-level spinal fusion is a scary proposition, but after reviewing X-rays and an MRI I knew my back wasn’t going to heal itself. PT and an epidural provided minimal benefit, and at age 66 I was ready for a long term solution. I met with Dr. Schmitz twice to learn as much as possible about the proposed surgery. He was very thorough and professional, and I gained the confidence needed to schedule the surgery. I am SO glad I did! At eight weeks post- op I have a much better quality of life. I am back to water aerobics and stationary bike exercise and have the stamina to walk a mile or more. I’m so grateful to Dr. Schmitz and his team!

Although cortisone injections are not the most comfortable, Eric is a pro. I’ve teased other clinicians that they have a lot to live up to to beat Eric.

I have been going to Iowa Ortho since 2013 for various conditions and can say I have always been treated with a very caring staff! The Physicians are all very professional and the Physicians Assistants are very professional as well, I highly recommend Iowa Ortho !

I had an appointment to check on the fusion of my neck surgery in September 20 20. I was greeted the minute I walked in the door. My appointment with Travis Williams was to go over the x-ray of my neck.He put me at ease immediately, explained the neck x-ray,And also talked to me about the condition and treatment of the rest of my back. I am very confident of his abilities and his mannerisms.

A very nice man. Pleasant to talk to. Looked at X-ray and explained what was happening. Made some suggestions which we talked over. Made a decision and was finished. Did not feel rushed at all. Thank you.

I've been having back and leg pain for months and thanks to Austin Duerksen, PA-C, I think we are on a good road to recovery. Austin listens to you and takes his time explaining options for you, very caring and attentive .

Enjoyed meeting Travis Williams. He was very kind and informative. I was finally able to see my MRI and xrays, which were not shared or explained from the previous Orthopedic surgeon I had seen at a different facility. I certainly hope Travis and Dr. Rosenthal will be able to assist me with my constant leg pain.
