List of Unitypoint Health's Reviews
Quick and friendly urgent care. The only downside now is that you have to book an appointment ahead of time online or else you may have to wait a few hours to be seen. The doctors and nurses here are helpful and kind. They can do x-rays and migraine injections.
Very disappointed in UnityPoint. Their ethics and misleading information from a provider cost me an additional 300 dollars for a penicillin injection. The provider was adamant that this injection was “comparable” to an oral antibiotic prescription bought at a retail store. This is NOT the case. This provider also told me her clinic had an ample amount of shots on hand because of the antibiotic shortage. I know it’s my word against another but I am not a person who will agree to $300+ charge when it could be easily avoided. UnityPoint needs to put procedures in place for situations like this and not deceive patients with falsely billing for services or surprise billing issues. (No Surprise Act??) Lastly, after speaking with a dispute team and progressing to the grievance department, UnityPoint’s only response was to further talk to my insurance company because “everything went towards my deductible.” The Grievance Specialist, Dillan, I spoke with couldn’t even explain why he wouldn’t be able to help me. Save your time, find another clinic that stands by their company’s culture and values.
I’ve been here more times than I can count and have always had a great experience with front desk and providers.
Drove over an hour and half, was not aware of making appointments since it is a “walk in” clinic. Turned us(my 6 year old) away because closing in 45 min …. 😔
I’m giving us a one I googled free Covid testing in this facility in Des Moines Iowa and this popped up first so there’s nothing free about this.
Called in to their office early November stating that I needed to be seen because I thought I may have gotten lice from a hotel stay. They told me not to come in because it would be too inconvenient for their office to deal with it and to call my primary care. I then called them again today regarding my child being I’ll and they told me that they only take appointments now and to try to set up an appointment on line for tomorrow when their portal appointments opens back up at 9PM. Care has always been spotty at this location, I would not recommend coming here if you’re sick. I have had great care at the Iowa Clinics faculties in WDM.
I called to ask question in regards to walk-in appointments, and the receptionist was extremely rude and disrespectful over the phone. If you want to feel like you’re on the phone with someone from “Mean Girls”, this would be the place to call
Don't bother making an appointment. Walk in because walk ins bump those who make appointments. They really need to review these and honor those who have appts first!!! I see that unity point just pastes a statement that they take all comments seriously and provide a number to call!!! Hello???? Read the reviews!!! No one is happy with your messed up system!!!! I made a 12 noon appointment and was told walk ins get seen in order they come in so I was bumped to a "walk in" status! This is a terrible way to be treated!
Walk in to the urgent care at 7:30pm, zero people in the waiting area, 2 cars in the parking lot. Get greeted with, we stopped checking in patients at 7:00pm because we are so busy, go somewhere else or come back in the AM. Sign says 365 days, 8am-8pm. Having to wait 3 hours at the next closest Urgent care (different provider) because Unity Point have been sending all their patients there. Was advised that the same thing happened yesterday because the Unity Point urgent care wanted to close early. I go to Unity point urgent care because my PC is with them, but I may have to change that now if I can't rely on them.
We have done appointments and walk-ins here. It says appointments take priority. But after 45mins past our appointment time I can say that's not true. We had to wait behind walk-ins. If youre going to come here just walk in and save your time making an appointment. Your wait will be the same.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
