List of Stephen Phlaum's Reviews
Completely disregarded me to the point he could not even tell me his findings. When I pulled my information through the hospital file I finally had his diagnosis "WHICH WAS WRONG ANYWAYS".
Very ignorant person. I was pregnant and came with complains about my heart beat , which he blamed on pregnancy . Heard in a hallway that I am overthinking . Visited other doctor and he did find a condition that I had all my life , just decided to visit doctor when I was pregnant to know for sure it’s not gonna affect the baby .
I have been seeing Dr. Phlaum for 2 years and I find him to be a pleasant and understanding physician. He seems genuinely concerned with my situation and answers any questions I have. I also appreciate his positive outlook, which helps when you are heart patient for the first time in your life.
He is always ready to help in any way he can. He is VERY caring to his patients and wants to make sure they are the best they can be. He is always available to them if and when they need him.
Horrid! He was rude and insulting! He came in with his arms folded and angry. I had seen his PA prior to him coming in and he never even examined me. He was mad because I said I wouldn't take Lisinopril as it made me dry cough and left me feeling very ill! He basically says well I can't help you because you are not gong to take your pills. He never talked to me about the EKG they did at that visit, and basically said: you are dismissed! At check our they just said buy, no follow ups, no receipt given or any print out of the visit. I will never, ever go back there, ever!!
Rushes in when I have appointment. Does not answer my considers. Comes in asked me to take a breath, listens to my heart and leaves before I have a chance to ask about my concorns
My niece was very sick with her heart and was referred to this doctor for treatment. As a matter of fact, she lost consciousness and was rushed by ambulance and hospitalized due to her heart condition. This doctor mocked her and made her cry. He explained it’s all in her head and she should see a psychiatrist. Well, if you didn’t need a psych doctor before seeing him, you will need one after. Pure negligence and arrogance. Horrible bedside manner.
He literally saved my life!! After labor I had chest pains and a lot of water retaining and I thought it might of been normal.. went to the ER and they did a chest X RAY and sent me home with water pills. Called him to make an appointment and he pulled up my X RAY, got me a immediate appointment the next morning between patients to get a Echo, sure enough I was at a 35% EF with Cardiomyopathy and heart failure. My EF only 3 months later is now 45% and no more heart failure!
My husband is a "new" heart patient and we were referred to Dr Phlaum for our initial visit. We saw him briefly at this visit, his ARNP handled the visit. The office scheduled a heart cath for the following week and ended up putting in a stent so he spent the night in the hospital to be monitored. Dr. Phlaum never talked to us about continuation of care or what happens next. We were so disappointed with this Doctor that we found a different cardiologist for our follow-up appointment.
Patient beware. Unless you like being belittled, devalued and your disease trivialized. My heart symptoms disabled me but he told me that it's all a fantasy. I wish it was a fantasy or some bad dream. Seeing this "doctor" was truly a nightmare.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
