Brookstone Dental's Online Review Report Card

Dr Mower of Brookstone Dentistry is an excellent dentist. He is 100% patient centric, is very thorough, he wants his work to be seen not only as caring for the function of your teeth but he wants you to have a pleasing smile and is very particular on the Aestetics component of his practices The clinic is welcoming and his staff is friendly and very professional. And there are smiles and laughter that are part of the ambience of his practice. Overall, Dr Mower and his staff are excellent at their craft.

I love Brookstone Dental. I’ve been a patient here for a while and they are always conscientious about patients’ needs and providing excellent care. Today’s visit was the BEST dental appointment I’ve ever had at any dentist anywhere. I took my prescription sunglasses so I could see without the light overstimulating me with my normal glasses and I filled out an entirely new patient intake form with all my medical history changes in the last 6 months alone. The dental hygienist and I talked about those changes and how overstimulation goes along with most of those. I asked if we could not do small talk during the cleaning time specifically (before or after was okay) and just listen to the music as she cleaned my teeth. As I talked about how the bright lights, the conversations around us, the sounds and feelings from the oral cleaning tools impact me, she immediately recognized the overstimulation issue with the addition of a little chat. She said she will do whatever I need. She said things may change and she is alright with that. I noted this may be JUST what I need or maybe I’ll need more accommodations in the future. She said to just let her know! We had a calm morning and I truly had the best dental experience of my life. No matter which practice I’d go to, I would usually leave a dentist appointment feeling drained and unsettled, but today I felt great. I asked for a three month check up and they were happy to accommodate that even though I usually go every six months. I also asked if she could note in my chart, “Remind Molly about her sunglasses.” in case I forget them some time in the future. Today’s appointment was so serene.

The staff are wonderful. I found them to be friendly and helpful. I was recognized from a previous visit and they even asked how my wife was doing. My appointment had been rescheduled because of a conflict. The staff found an opening that worked and were able to quickly get me in to take care of two aching teeth. Dr Mower is amazingly gentle with the numbing shots. I was also thankful that he took into consideration I didn't want my mouth numb for the rest of the afternoon. As he worked, he constantly checked as to my comfort. Overall my visit was very pleasant.

The dental hygienist scraped away my dental work and it required multiple visits to correct. Mower used a repair color that does not match my teeth color. I asked him about this as I never had this issue with Dr. Calhoun (Mower bought his practice) he said I needed my teeth bleached ($$$). This procedure was incredibly painful, left blisters in my mouth/lips and resulted in thrush and dermatology visits - and no difference in teeth color. It has been awful. I will not return.
