Matthew Bender's Online Review Report Card

I have been going to Dr. Bender for my dermatology needs for the last several years. I find him to be a very caring and thoughtful doctor. He has been conscientious at suspicious spots on my face and has taken very good care of me. I would highly recommend Dr. Bender.

I've been seeing Dr. Bender for a few years now and have found him to be very professional. I have not experienced any sort of problem with him or his staff. It's been very easy to make an appointment and to be seen on time.

The worst experience I have ever had trying to make an apt. I was told to go to urgent care Dr. office did not want my business. I do not recomend

Dr. Bender is arrogant and rude! to begun the Dr. and all of primary health has notes that my fiance is pregnant and when she is due Dec 1st! I had an appoint schedule with DR. Bender a week ago and didn't show due a classic case of Braxton Hicks ended up going to the hospital thinking shes in labor whoops sorry for not calling to cancel had bigger issues to deal with. Had another appointment this week so I called to cancel the one I have in a few days and to re-schedule for Feb when I don't have to worry about my baby being born. The secretary tells me to hold on so she can ask the Dr. Apparently Dr. Bender said he will not accept my rescheduling and will no longer take me as a client because I didn't show up and i'm rescheduling. They went ahead and did this without asking why I had not shown up and why im re-scheduling. Life happens! Thanks for taking my $70 dollars to diagnose me for a what a Dr. had already told me I had but referred me to you since your a specialist . FYI very unfriendly guy, arrogant, and kinda doesn't take into considerations peoples emergencies. Maybe take Hippocratic Oath a little more seriously Dr. or don't be one!

Outstanding Doctor. I have read the other reviews that are negative, and I am shocked as what they describe has NEVER been my or my wife's experience. I have always found Dr. Bender to be very careful in his exams, very informative on issues he has found, more than willing and able to answer all the questions I have had. He went over and above searching out the one and only Specialist who could treat my wife's extremely rare skin Lymphoma...no other Dermatologist took the time and effort to get to the root cause as being potentially life threatening as it masks itself like a simple fungal skin condition. Thank you Dr. Bender and Staff for your excellent care and professionalism...God Bless

I waited over 2 months for my appointment today and I was NOT impressed. I had a half hour appointment and I was dismissed in less than 10 minutes. I found Dr. Bender to be rude and quite frankly uncaring.

The experience I endured trying to schedule an appointment over the phone with Dr. Bender’s office was awful and totally unfair. I was met with a horrendously nasty attitude by the receptionist when I called right at 8am to schedule an appointment as an existing client for a fast-spreading rash. The receptionist was clearly grouchy to answer my call right as the office was opening for the day and could not have been more unconcerned about the worrisome rash. I was placed on three long holds, and when she did speak to me, she flippantly told me things like I would “just have to jump through the hoops of urgent care before getting in to see Dr. Bender on a priority status” because “what did (I) know about rashes.” She got me all worked up, then put me on speaker phone when I became clearly agitated at her attitude, in order to play victim to her co-workers about my tone of voice. I am a genuinely kind and pleasant person with no reason to lose my cool except for when a receptionist so miserable with her job decides to treat a client so poorly. Shame on her and the office manager who immediately came to her defense without even hearing my side of the story. I feel very grateful to live in a large enough community where we have health care choices, and I look forward to establishing a doctor-client relationship with a much more deserving dermatology office.

When you have a life long unchanging condition apparently Dr. Bender has the option of holding the prescription you need for ransom in order to shake you down for the cost of another visit before he is willing to renew your prescription. Shady and unscrupulous about taking advantage of people who are dealing with real medical issues.

I thought I was getting a dermatology specialist. Apparently not. Dr Bender was curt and short with me. Without an exam diagnosed eczema from a cross the room. Told me to continue as I had been doing...you'll have that. $120.00 later I have increasingly an worse condition on both hands. Thanks for nothing.

I've been seeing Dr. Bender regularly for a few years and find him to be professional, friendly and cautious with my Type 1 skin. I've recommended him to by best friend, who also was pleased with his care.
