List of Saint Alphonsus Urgent Care Lake Hazel Clinic's Reviews
The visit this evening left little to be desired. I've worked for 32 years at St. Al's, 14 of that including ER, ICU, OR and floors. The issue for the visit was not what the provider initially came in for, and the MA had written the verbal history prior to the provider entering the room. Once the provider was redirected, several topics were tossed out from the extreme to the more benign. The medical exam consisted of listening to bowel sounds in the chair. The symptoms reported on the chart are not accurate nor do they reflect the pain level talked about twice. We will go to the ER if needed. While aware Urgent Care is limited, what could have been accomplished was an exam and listening to the actual issues the patient is concerned about as well as their family. Simple things, too, like introducing yourself is appreciated. This is meant for constructive feedback. It takes a lot to sit down to write a review like this as I am usually very focused on the positive and love sharing positively oriented reviews. Truly disappointed.
The doctor was wonderful and I’ll definitely come back for him but… I’m not sure what was going on with the receptionist, but every time she asked me to clarify something, she would repeat a totally different answer. She asked me my first and last, I told her my name was Katherine and she said “Okay Jennifer” Then when reading my phone number back to me she was unable to comprehend what I was saying twice. She repeated a totally different number to me. When she asked if my emergency contacts were “Rhonda and Stacy” I said no.. my husbands name is SHAY?? She said “I meant Shay” and kept playing with her hair. It was incredibly frustrating and she seemed so disinterested I almost walked out. It seemed like she was either high or hungover. Very bad service. And when checking out she didn’t know any of the estimates and had to send me to another receptionist who was very kind and helpful, but she didn’t even direct me to go to the other woman, she just looked at the person behind me and said “I’ll help you over here” and just kind of disregarded me. I don’t know what I did to make her treat me so badly, but genuinely you need better staff up front. She’s an embarrassment.
Subpar medical care and astronomical prices charged. Had to ask for instructions on care for a glued cut on finger, the glue didn't even last 24 hours and had to take care of it myself. Will never go there again, and of course dealing with Trinity Health on the prices is a joke. After insurance paid, still have to pay close to $200, for horrible ca
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you. X-RAYS available
My daughter has seen Dr. Antink since she was a baby (12 years) and we’ve always liked her. Our billing experience after her most recent wellness check has been awful and is the reason we will be looking for a new provider. My daughter’s well visit was in November 2025 and we were fully insured. The business office was aware of our insurance prior to check-in. In March, I received a bill for $541, the full amount of the visit (no coverage from our insurance). Thinking it was a mistake, I called and talked to the Office Manager. He informed me that we were not in network with the insurance we had at the time and should’ve been informed of that upon checkin (we were not). He continued to say that it was a violation of the no surprises act and was their problem and he would have it written off. I tried following up with him multiple times over the next several weeks but he refused to return my calls despite multiple attempts and voicemails. His name is Carson. I also reached out to St. Alphonsus central billing and explained my situation. They also understood the issues with the unexpected bill and agreed to delay the bill, re-bill insurance, and again work on writing off the bill. I was encouraged. Over the next couple months, I followed up with central billing multiple times and provided requested information. Until the last time I called billing and the lady refused to talk to me about my daughter’s situation citing HIPAA concerns and me not being listed along with my wife as a contact, even though I was there in the room when she was born at St. Al’s, I’ve attended multiple doctor appointments over the years, lived with her mother for 20+ years, paid all of her medical bills, and am one of her legal guardians as her father (a clear clerical error on Saint Alphonsus’ part, to which they didn’t seem to care to fix, even after my wife called to clear it up). Today I have again received the bill. I cannot relay the sheer disappointment I feel with this situation especially after the lengthy and positive relationship daughter and our family has had with Dr. Antink. I’ve worked in healthcare insurance for 20 years and what has happened here is wrong. I would have written off this bill because it’s morally correct. Saint Alphonsus Pediatrics has refused to. I feel beaten down and have paid the bill because I’m sick of dealing with it. My family cannot continue to support a practice where we are ultimately just a number and we’re heartbroken about that, especially since Dr. Antink is a great doctor.
I was taken back after a very short wait. The provider took care of my needs promptly. I love coming to this location!
Knowledgeable, friendly, timely, thorough, and clean. I will Definitely go back if I need there services.
Excellent service with knowledgeable and professional staff.
I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt the need to speak up about this experience. My nurse and PA were wonderful and took great care of me. Unfortunately, I left feeling uncomfortable because of an interaction with the receptionist staff. I normally go to St. Luke’s, and I actually work there, but this urgent care was the closest facility to my home after a long workday. During check-in, the receptionist mentioned twice that they did not have much information on file for me. I reassured her that was completely fine and that I would gladly provide anything they needed. After sitting down to wait, I overheard the receptionist telling the employee next to her that she didn’t know why I came there because they didn’t have information on file for me, followed by complaints about me now having two charts. As someone who works in healthcare, I understand what that means, but I didn’t appreciate hearing staff complain about my decision to seek care at the closest facility available to me. I simply needed medical care and chose the most convenient urgent care after work. While the clinical staff were excellent, the comments made at the front desk left me feeling unwelcome.
I made an appointment several months in advance just to see a specific doctor with a specific specialty and reputation as my new primary. I had important things I wanted her to help with. But I didn’t get to meet my “new doctor”. I was seen on my INITIAL visit by a nurse practitioner. She was a nice lady, but she was NOT the doctor I waited and waited to see. I was not asked if this would be ok with me. The nurse was not able to actually help me with my issue. There was a checklist, and it got checked off. I was told I could come back in a year. Probably not. I am just SO tired of the system. I am old enough to remember a different kind of care and I miss it.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process.
