List of Waters Edge Dental's Reviews
I came here to get care, after horrible experiences with dental offices. This one really made a difference on me, the office is so clean, the staff are so nice, and so so kind! And super thorough, with what they do! And so are the providers. I couldn’t be more grateful for them and their hard work.
Dr. Hyder and Christy have been excellent through a couple crowns and fillings. The estimated times for how long it will take have been spot on. I moved here as they accepted my work insurance and couldn't be more pleased. The whole front of house is excellent as well.
I can’t say enough good things about Water’s Edge Dental, especially Dr. Hyder and hygienist Tara! From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely cared for. Tara is warm, thorough, and takes the time to explain everything in a way that’s easy to understand. You can tell she truly cares about patient education, not just cleaning teeth. Dr. Hyder is equally fantastic! Friendly, attentive, and focused on making sure you feel comfortable and informed every step of the way. Even though I was seeing Dr. Hyder that day, Dr. Herzog still took a moment to pop in and say hello, which really speaks to how welcoming and connected the whole team is. The entire office, from front desk to clinical staff, creates such a positive, patient-first experience. If you’re looking for a dental team that combines expertise with genuine kindness, I can’t recommend Water’s Edge Dental enough. I actually look forward to my visits now, which is not something I ever thought I’d say about going to the dentist!
Dr. Hyder and staff is absolutely amazing! Works great with finances, super compassionate and extremely knowledgeable! I found my new dentist, thank you for everything! 🙏
I'm so happy I found Dr. Hyder! She’s incredibly friendly, gentle, and made me feel completely at ease. Her skill and care really show in everything she does. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great dentist.
Dr Hyder is the best there is! Wouldn’t go anywhere else!
Dr Hyder is the best dentist. She’s extremely knowledgeable and really cares about her patients. She always makes me feel like family. I am so lucky to have found her! I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my teeth!
I hate to leave negative reviews for businesses, especially in the dental/healthcare because having worked in both fields I know most of the time everyone’s just doing their best and following protocol. However I had really unfortunate experiences with them. Overall, the bedside manner of both Dr Hyder and Dr Herzog were really great. We liked the office and both of them. My first issue began when they gave me a quoted number for my root canal/crown and then AFTER the procedure they took me to the office and told me insurance didn’t do what they thought it would and I suddenly owed about $1000 more than I was initially told I’d have to pay. They wanted payment right then and there, which I was anticipating and prepared to pay about $300, not $1000. I told them they’d need to give me some time to figure out how to pay such a large sum. Keep in mind, The week before this, my husband had just lost his job and I was on maternity leave, we had a 6 week old baby at home. I called them about 2 weeks later to tell them I didn’t have $1500 out of pocket to pay them, and explained the financial situation we were going through. They said I could get on a payment plan, paying $300 a month. I told them with my husband being out of work, me on an unpaid maternity leave, and a newborn at home, we were literally living off a small savings to buy formula for the baby and feed ourselves/pay rent. $300/month was out of the question for now. I offered to pay $30, and even that was nearly a massive sacrifice at the time. She told me they could not accept anything less than $300 a month…..which blew my mind. I was TRYING to pay what I could during a massive hardship. During this call, I also mentioned to them the tooth they’d worked on was giving me severe pain. The office lady (can’t remember her name) said that wasn’t possible with a root canal, that the nerve was gone and it had to be from another tooth. I assured her it was coming from the tooth they’d done the work on, and she still told me I was wrong, but that I could come in and get an xray for the surrounding teeth to see what was causing the pain, but they wouldn’t see me and help until my balance was paid in full. A newly postpartum mom, in tears on the phone, in pain, my husband out scrambling to get a job to provide for our family, and they provided zero support, sympathy or options for us. It was $300/mo or nothing, and no more help until it was all paid. Fast forward to this week, and we had someone pounding on our front door over and over, waking my baby. I go answer it to be handed papers informing us that we were being sued by Waters Edge Dental for the balance we owed plus an additional $500 in lawyer fees. I’m absolutely disheartened at the way i was treated and this situation was handled. I worked in a dental office years ago as the front office manager who handled insurance, and I can assure you, this is never how we’d treat a patient especially one who openly tried to come to a solution with us and explained the hardship they were going through. Especially if we were to blindside them and charged them $1000 more than we’d told them they needed to pay. I hope for more humanity in the world, and we didn’t find that with Waters Edge Dental. We found abrasive greediness and an inability to be a real human and accept our efforts of paying what we could a month until it was paid off. They wanted more and wanted it now, and when we literally didn’t have it to give, they brought lawyers into it, knowing what we were going through. Honestly flabbergasted and have since gotten proper dental care, fixed complications, and amazing office staff that set up a very reasonable monthly payment that we happily pay every month. Look elsewhere for dental care.
This was a few years ago but I was just reminded of the experience and I felt the need to share. Dr Herzog missed a root while performing a root canal in November of 2022. After a bunch of tests and xrays, Dr Hyder was unable to locate the source of pain I was experiencing. So I lived with facial/ dental pain for 2 years because they couldn't find anything until I gathered up enough courage to see a dentist just for general care. The new dentist office addressed my issues caused by failed root canal and general care. The new endodontist showed me the missed root on an xray. He also prescribed antibiotics for what he described as a "raging infection in my face". I paid close to $730 for the first root canal/crown and over $200 for the repair at the other endodontist office, plus the costs of the office visits, the antibiotics, my well being, and my time. I'm sure he's a fine dentist otherwise he just missed the mark with me.
11/10 experience. Everyone from start to finish was so welcoming and friendly. Dr Herzog was fantastic, very personable and great at explaining the process. The first Tara was very nice and the hygienist Tara was so enjoyable to chat with. Great cleaning, great conversation. Misty was so friendly as well. All around just a top-tier experience because of the down-to-earth, genuinely good people that work here. Oh also the playlists are great. Very relaxing atmosphere.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
