I went in and was greeted very kindly and promptly. Everyone on the staff is super wonderful. My doctor is awesome and took a sample to biopsy on a spot that looks cancerous, froze off another spot. Waiting for my biopsy results which he told me would be taken care of. Highly recommended!!
World-class skin help and fabulous staff with amazing follow-up. J in Boise
Very professional and very punctual. I do not like going into a doctors office and have to wait 20 minutes past my appointment time yesterday. I got to the office 30 minutes early and they saw me in about five minutes and I like that they’re also very informative and let me know the details of the procedure that they were gonna do on me a big thank you to the staff and the doctor
I left my appointment with Dr. Ryan Harris at Meridian Dermatology feeling disappointed and frustrated with the quality of care I received. I scheduled an appointment to be evaluated for hair thinning and hair loss. My visit with Dr. Harris lasted approximately 15 minutes. During that time, he performed only a very brief visual inspection of my scalp before telling me that I likely have female pattern hair loss. I was then presented with two options: begin treatment for female pattern hair loss or undergo a scalp biopsy involving the removal of two 4 mm tissue samples. When I asked whether the biopsy would confirm female pattern hair loss, Dr. Harris said it would not. Instead, he explained that it would help rule out other conditions, and that he was recommending it because I had recently experienced some scalp itching. I then asked what the treatment options for female pattern hair loss would be so I could make an informed decision. Rather than explaining them, I was told we could discuss treatment only if I chose to move forward with it. As a patient, I don't understand how I was expected to decide between treatment and a biopsy without first being informed about the available treatments, their risks, benefits, or level of invasiveness. I declined the biopsy because I wanted time to discuss it with my husband before agreeing to an invasive procedure. After returning home, I researched the typical evaluation process for female pattern hair loss and was surprised to learn that there are generally several diagnostic steps that may be considered before proceeding to a biopsy, depending on the patient's presentation. In my case, I did not feel that a thorough evaluation was performed. Dr. Harris did not carefully examine my scalp, part my hair to inspect different areas, or use dermoscopy or another magnified examination of the scalp. My medical history related to my hair loss was only briefly discussed, and no laboratory evaluation was suggested to investigate other potential contributing factors. The physical examination consisted of only a quick glance at my scalp that lasted a matter of seconds. I understand that every patient's situation is different and that physicians use their own clinical judgment. However, based on my experience, I did not feel that enough information was gathered before recommending either treatment or an invasive biopsy. Unfortunately, this appointment felt like a waste of both my time and money. I left without confidence in the evaluation I received and will be seeking a second opinion from another dermatologist. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Meridian Dermatology.
On time appointment, very courteous conversations and treatment. Good explanations of what was going to happen and what could be uncomfortable. Glad to be a patient here.
Very fast! And good with kids
I had a very disappointing experience with Meridian Dermatology from start to finish. I scheduled my appointment specifically because I wanted help treating compulsive skin picking. Instead, the visit was treated as a routine skin check rather than addressing the reason I came in. Before even asking what treatments I had already tried, Dr. Harris recommended NAC as though it was new information. I previously worked in dermatology and have already tried NAC, but I wasn’t given the opportunity to discuss my history before recommendations were made. The office was also not transparent about their 3.25% credit card processing fee. I wasn’t informed beforehand, and when I asked about it, the response I received was simply that “signs are posted on the counter,” which came across as dismissive rather than helpful. Another interaction left me especially uncomfortable. When I texted to reschedule my appointment, the staff responded by asking, “Is this [Patient Name?]”—someone who was obviously not me. Seeing another patient’s full name in a text conversation raised serious concerns about their attention to patient privacy and accuracy. Finally, I texted after my appointment asking whether Dr. Harris could prescribe medication for skin picking—the reason I had sought care in the first place. After having to send two separate messages two days apart just to get a response, I was told I would need to schedule and pay for another appointment to be reevaluated before they would even consider treatment. Overall, I left feeling unheard, dismissed, and frustrated. I came looking for help with a specific condition, but instead felt like my concerns were never truly addressed. Between the poor communication, lack of transparency about fees, dismissive customer service, and privacy concerns, I won’t be returning or recommending this practice.
I switched dermatologists due to the customer service and overall experience at this practice. Dr. Harris has a poor bedside manner and often comes across as condescending, lacking the personal touch I expect from a healthcare provider. Communication is also a recurring issue. On one occasion, a prescription was not sent in as promised, creating a stressful situation over a weekend. Another time, Dr. Harris went on vacation without any notice to patients, which prevented a needed medication refill. When I expressed concern about being without medication for more than a week, the response was dismissive. Rather than addressing the issue, I was told how unfortunate it was that it happened during one of the "rare" vacations he takes. Everyone deserves time off, but patients who rely on ongoing medications should be informed in advance and provided with appropriate coverage while their physician is away. Unfortunately, these experiences led me to seek care elsewhere.
Good care!
They worked to get me in quickly. Everyone was very nice and professional.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
