List of R.J. Axtell's Reviews
I have known of Dr: Axtell since my oldest daughter was born. She is almost 7 now. He was her primary Dr. when we first met him. He was not only knowledgeable and kind with her, but also with us when we were first time parents. He would ask how we were doing and really listen to us and cared about how we were feeling. He made such a huge impression on us, that we ended up having him be our care provider for our whole family. He cares about both physical and mental health, and to me that’s huge. I highly recommend him and can’t say enough good things!
I chose Dr. Axtell to be my Uncle’s PCP years ago, I’d heard great things about him but also wanted a young doc that wouldn’t be retiring a few years after establishing. Anyways, I am so happy I did. Dr. Axtell has been nothing less than spectacular. He is kind, caring, understanding and exhibits patience with my Uncle when he is slow to answer, or has those loooong answers. He explains things in layman’s terms when needed and is never condescending to my Uncle (who has some paranoia issues), or my family that does not have a lot of medical experience or understand some of the terminology. He reiterates the important things without instilling fear and redirects without interrupting in an efficient manner. He addresses things that can be addressed at the time of the visit instead of scheduling for a different time, allowing things to linger. His staff has always been kind as well, this tells me he will not accept anything less from his staff when it comes to patient care. Dr. Axtell’s “standard of care” is certainly the Gold Standard and I feel very fortunate that my Uncle has one of the Best Doctors managing his care.
I have been a patient of Ricky Axtell for a number of years. He has seen me through many different injuries and medical health conditions in my middle fifties and now middle sixties. He takes the time to listen and explain options and treats me as a partner in my personal health care and choices. He's responsive and follows up and has a very agreeable and understanding "bed-side" manner. He's been ...
Dr. Axtell is amazing. Honest with a fantastic bedside manner that doesn't come off as fake or condescending. He has been my PCP for a few years now, and it's worth the drive to Boise to go and see him.
Dr. Axtell is the whole package. He treats the malady, does appropriate research, listens to his patients, and is consistently kind without being condescending. We have recommended him to family and friends. The ones who have gone to him have reported the same.
I am really happy having Dr. Axtell as my physician. He takes his time with me, listens attentively, and answers questions thoroughly. He's a keeper!
My mom who is nearly 90 yrs of age, goes to Dr Axtell. He is very attentive while listening to her. He is very patient and kind and I believe he makes very good medical diagnosis and more importantly very good treatment. Also we are able to get her in for a visit in a very timely manner. I highly recommend him.
I appreciate Dr. AXTELL. He is very knowledgeable and a great listener. He has great diagnostic skills. He always listens and never rushes through your exam..Excellent bedside manner.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
