This review is for the radiology department at Gritman Medical Center. My husband and I arrived on time and were waiting to be called in for an ultrasound when two people from radiology came and told us they wanted us to go into a small room, not near the radiology department. I immediately assumed we were in trouble since I had previously cancelled an MRI and also a CT scan. I pictured them telling us that they just could not run a radiology department efficiently if we were going to keep cancelling our appointments. This instant fear that came over me no doubt stemmed from my school days and the many times I had to see the truant officer at Lake Stevens High School for being late to school :-). What a surprise to learn the real reason for the meeting was to tell us that the hospital's ultrasound machine was on the fritz. But, they didn't just tell us that and send us packing, they fell all over themselves to make up for the loss of our time by giving us a pass to the cafe and a free gas card for a local gas station and by apologizing sincerely. They were friendly and very kind, so much so that I told one of them that the next time I'm depressed I'm coming to the radiology department to start feeling good again. But, this is not the end of the story. Since the CT scan I had cancelled was for later that day, I asked them if we might go ahead with the MRI we had cancelled days earlier instead. While the CT scan time slot didn't work for the MRI, they were able to do the MRI anyway and also the ultrasound! They have another gizmo for ultrasound they were about to bring in, and we ended up with two processes out of the way instead of one. It was a great day, thanks to the care we were shown by Scott, the manager, and the three technicians who performed the ultrasound and MRI. A little kindness goes a long way.
A family member of mine had an upper GI bleed and bled out due to the negligence of the providers at Gritman. They refused him particular services that could have easily avoided this outcome due to “COVID.” Absolutely horrible facility.
Gritman environmental techs are hard workers and the medical staff were quick!
Got an X-ray at Gritman. Then I received a bill from a company that I had never heard of, had no contact with, and had no need for, Palouse Imaging Consultants, in addition to the bill from Gritman. I was told that Palouse Imaging Consultants is hired to look at X-rays done at Gritman. I have no idea why Gritman cannot look at its own X-rays. I also didn't need Gritman or Palouse to look at the X-ray, since both my general practitioner's office AND my orthopedist would be doing that anyway. (I never got any opinion from Palouse Imaging Consultants, nor did my general practitioner's office or my orthopedist ever mention any services from Palouse Imaging Consultants.) When I complained to Palouse Imaging Consultants, they told me that the form I signed at Gritman authorized Gritman to basically subcontract out anything to anyone they felt like. So Palouse Imaging Consultants' only argument for the charge is that they are legally entitled to it, not that doctors or patients receive any benefit from it. You know you don't any case for your alleged services when your only rationale for charging for it is that you legally can. What a scam. Maybe I should try to get a job where I am legally entitled to send people who have never heard of me bills for doing nothing.
Consistently disappointed and frustrated any time I have to deal with this hospital. The employees are so nice, but this hospital is a mess. Been waiting 3 months for nephrology to even receive my referral. I have talked to some people in the ER myself and told it was being sent out. Nephrology still has yet to get it and have taken over themselves in trying to put pressure on Gritman to send it. The amount of stories just like this from my friends, family and the doctors they work with as well is ridiculous. Some practitioners in the area have started sending people to other hospitals for care because of the continual carelessness. I can promise you, in the end Gritman will be responsible for care being delayed to you.
Gritman Medical Center! What a wonderful joke. The over paid people that they call medical staff are rude and its obvious that all they care about is a paycheck and not you or your loved ones. If you have a choice please don't hesitate to go anywhere else in the world then to Gritman Medical Center.
The most useless hospital on the planet. I would rather bleed out than be taken here.
Had doctors orders for EKG and two blood test. Went in I have the two blood draws and left because I was told the EKG orders were not there. An hour later I got a call saying one of the blood draws needed to be redone at my convenience. The day I decided to do that re-blood draw I called the hospital to ask if the EKG doctor’s orders were there and they said yes. This was about 7 AM so about 9:30 AM I come in for the EKG and 2nd blood draw and now the EKG orders cannot be found. Eventually I got all the doctors orders taken care of which took over a period of several days. Gritman has a reputation for losing doctors orders. From now on I’ll drive the extra miles to Pullman.
I am fuming. My daughters nail was ripped off from being smashed in a door. If they could of just given her 20 minutes of time she could of been done. Instead she was there for 4 hours. She was supposed to have the numbing cream on for 15 minutes. They made her wait for an hour and half in pain with this cream that was bothering her. Everything said how important it was to hurry and fix the nail bed for it might cause deformities or the nail may never grow back at all. (Her wedding finger) They also mentioned it to us, but yet it took them FOUR HOURS to fix my 3 year olds finger. This is not the first, nor second but the 3rd time I have had a negative experience causethey do not care about your wait time or constantly skipping you. Coming in and out instead of just doing it. I've never had this type of frustration with 3 other hospitals I've been too. Gritman is terrible business. All you can hear while your there is the nurses chatting it up while you wonder why no one cares.
The care my family received when we had our baby at Gritman was great minus the unethical covid rules they had. No family members were allowed to join us during this monumental time. They wouldn't even let me walk the newborn outside to see his doting grandparents. I'm leaving this low review because of how unhelpful the facility is when it comes to volunteering and shadowing for pre-med students. You'd think that Gritman would love so many students wanting to shadow and help out. I've gone in person multiple times, been given phone numbers and emails, all to no avail. For months I've tried every possible form of contact simply to be met with a brick wall. What gives, Gritman? Why not support your local students while receiving free volunteers? I reached out to Pullman Regional and St. Joe's and got in immediately! Please take notes from the other hospitals-such unprofessionalism really makes you look bad.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
