Not a good Doctor

Eleven years ago Dr. Newell performed surgery and in so doing saved the life of my significant other, Edith, after she suffered a brain aneurysm. She experienced a 100% recovery. More recently Edith has experienced cervical stenosis. The following is an email we sent to Sarah Niles, Dr. Newell's PA-C, after we met with them today (12 December 2019):Sarah, it's obvious that Edith has the support of a world class neurosurgeon, and his world class staff. We want to thank you, Amy, the rest of the staff, and of course Dr. Newell, for helping Edith as she weaves her way through her bout of cervical stenosis and related symptoms. Edith's high quality of life, which includes her family, retirement, and travel, would have suffered dearly had it not been for the intervention of you and Dr. Newell. Dr Newell performed a laminectomy on me in October 2018. The pain reduction was wonderful and the recovery went well. I am still very careful how I lift things, but back pain from standing has been ended and i am resuming my normal activities. He and Sarah Niles his PA-G were with me through my recovery visits. I had a pinched nerve that was quite painful a couple of months post surgery, and they were very thorough in evaluating the cause and helped me to solve that issue. I have every confidence I received great care every step of the way. Thank you Dr Newell and Sarah Niles.

I had a lipoma growing on the back of my neck and it continued to grow over the years. My doctor let me know it was in a tricky spot because of nerves underneath and that it needed to be removed or I would start to experience weird sensations because of the pressure on the nerves.Luckily, Dr. Newell took on my case for me and he and his staff couldn't have made me feel more at ease. Dr. Newell has a very calm, confident and warm personality that allows you to relax and know that you are in good hands (and I am a professional worrier).The procedure went super smoothly and I felt like I got white glove service the whole time; it was the best experience I have had getting a procedure done. Sarah, his super funny PA, followed up with me multiple times to make sure my sutures were healing well and his staff was super flexible with my busy schedule. Thankfully, my procedure was very simple but I can given the professionalism of him and his staff, I can see why Dr. Newell is one of the best neurosurgeons in Seattle.
