List of Jacques Bouchard's Reviews
Doctor Bouchard is arrogant and makes snide remarks. He has no empathy towards patients. I previous had a spinal fusion (May 2020) done by him. I ended up being seen in his office shortly afterwards as I had what I believed to be an infection. He dismissed the puss, inflammation and high fever and sent me home. I ended up spending a week in the hospital on IV antibiotics due to infection. 2 1/2 years later I have still had ongoing spinal issues. I recently had MRIs completed of the whole spine which showed issues in the c spine, t spine as well as the L spine. I have been off work for 2 1/2 years, unable to work at all. I am also unable to get dressed, drive any much more at least 60% of the time due to pain. My hydromorphone and hydromorph contin just keeps getting upped, which I have complained about as I want resolve not just to increase my medication. I have also been apart of a pain clinic, massage, acupuncture and physio weekly for the last 2 1/2 years. Dr. Bouchard is dismissive and said he would refer me to a new surgeon. He did not listen to me. He did not review the paper work I had to fill out to show where my pain is when I arrived. His bed side manners are terrible. It seems like he is just in it for the money. One last thing, as mentioned, I had surgery 2 1/2 years ago and when I needed to see him again for ongoing spine issues, I had to get a new referral. Makes no sense considering he is the one that did the surgery. There is so much more wrong with this doctor. It is time he retires. He obviously doesn't care how he makes people feel or how much pain patients are in.
Dr. Bouchard successfully completed a minimally invasive lumbar fusion. What a difference! I had always had trouble with my cervical spine having suffered several whiplash injuries over the years. Nearing the end of my uneventful recovery from my back surgery I started having a lot of neck pain and associated neurological symptoms. He looked at my MRI at my last checkup, and told me within 30 seconds that I needed on ADCF. Not the news I wanted to hear, but once I considered my quality of life and told him to go ahead, I was booked within three weeks. I found him to be very thorough, knowledgable and kind. Brilliant surgeon and all his staff are simply the best! Thank you all!
15 years ago dr Bouchard did his second surgery on my back. The outcome to date has been amazing on both surgeries. He told it exactly how it was and what the outcomes could be. My family has appreciated all this doctor and team has done for us. Thanks again
I had two back surgeries, ten years apart , done by dr Bouchard. Hd is a great surgeon, I like his no nonsense approach. I would highly recommend him!
I couldn’t be happier with the entire process. As mentioned in a previous comment, Dr. Bouchard is a perfect mix of personable and straight shooter. I don’t want or need to be Molly-coddled. I need to know what the problem is and if/how it can be fixed. He definitely checked all the boxes.
Dr Bouchard saw me regarding a Disc Replacement. Told me it would be 2 years to wait and I would get a fusion. Went elsewhere and got 2 offers for disc replacement. Saw Dr Bouchard again, he denied ever telling me it would be 2 yrs(lie). Do not recommend Dr. Bouchard, he is arrogant and untrustworthy in my experience.
This experience was terrible. He sent in a "Fellow" The fellow asked some questions that if they even cracked my file open would have been there. He barly did any tests and then said their was no sign of weakness. Then Bouchard came in and did nothing asked no questions and said no surgery. He said the muscle strength could come back but the size may not. Again if he looked at my file for 1 second he would know that after 13 years that was maybe a stupid statement. To top it all off at the end he asked me what kind of bike I ride? I am not looking for riding buddies I am looking for a dr to get off his butt and tell me whats wrong.
Dr. Bouchard is so arrogant and dismissive. Great surgeon, but gives the feeling as though you're annoying him with your existence and wasting his time by making him do his job as a surgeon. He is good at that part, but he as a person is very condescending and doesn't seem to take what the patient says to heart. No heart, but good at the fixing part. Take from that what you will.
Had a great experience with Dr. Bouchard. Our meetings were quite brief but he was very clear about the risks of the surgery and was careful to answer any questions I had. I found him friendly, but he didn't mess around with any BS (which I like). Didn't have to plead my case, he just left the choice to proceed with surgery up to me. Glad I did it!
I found that within 2 minutes he was ready to end our consultation. I was referred to him by another surgeon for disc replacement. Bluntly said I was too fat for it. I had to push for him to look into other options - was not helpful at all. Now wants to refer me to pain management. Are doctors not supposed to help people? We know what would fix my problem but doesn't want to do it - feeling I am being discriminated against due to my size. I am overweight but not grossly. Why do doctors not want to help overweight people? I hope to never see him again - find him non-approachable, arrogant, rude.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
