List of Kristen Jessen's Reviews
I would like to say different Dr. Jensen’s been really good with me really has help me solve some health concerns God bless
All of my visits have gone really well. They are always available to answer any questions I may have & they are friendly & personable. Dr. Jessen always makes sure I understand her instructions & if I become confused on anything I call the office & either DSr. Jessen or her nurse will return my call. We have also used a site to talk that is like Facetime.
I wish i had read these reviews before going to dr jessen. I was warned by her nurse that her reputation precedes her and the appointment might be overwhelming, i should have left then. She was only focused on headaches and prescribing a certain medicine for the headaches which is not the reason i went to her. She presents as rude and callous, intimidating and doesnt answer questions and speaks down to you. She made me feel like my condition was a non issue compared to the headaches she wanted to treat which were not the issue. Along with attacking most aspects of my life and telling me how im wrong in the way i care for my baby, children, even my pet dog. There were many times i fought back tears durring this appointment, but stayed hoping eventually she’d get to the part where she would actually help me. That part didnt come. So if you have any choice in seeking alternate sources for neurology care please do. I would nearly call her behaviour abusive.
I had another appointment with Dr. Jessen yesterday. I haven't seen her for a couple of years and I would still highly recommend her. She knows her stuff. She doesn't small talk with you, but so what. Her staff is amazingly compassionate, kind and helpful. She explained everything to my full satisfaction, asked if I had any questions and was not in a hurry. After explaining thoroughly the options, together we put together a course of treatment that I was happy with. She gave me options. I like that. She went with my choices. I like that. I was armed with knowledge when I left her office and was comforted because now I had a plan. I like that. Really - spend your time with her on your medical concern. She's all there for that! Forget small talk. She's brilliant and I will continue to trust her with my brain, and that is something that is very important to me.
Dr. Jessen is brilliant - as attested to by other doctors in the community. Sure, she may not be warm and fuzzy, but she is highly qualified, thorough and experienced. Do you want a social butterfly treating you, or a highly qualified Neurologist? Don't plan on wasting her time with small talk, but I trust her completely with my brain. The extra time she maybe doesn't spend with you is put toward studying your test results, etc. I'm not looking for a new friend. I need a brilliant doctor, and that's what she is.
Jennifer was very discourteous from the moment I walked in. Later with billing questions-like -why can't I get a receipt for payment, as the charge was much higher than the estimate, she hung up on me and told the others I cussed her. That was a lie. Angela was very unhelpful and said " I didn't say that" quite as few times. The Doctor seemed suspicious of most of what I said and ordered useless tests. This was my 1st time to a neurologist after about 20 years of migraines and seizures. I was very glad to get diagnosed but they should know full well that patients need understanding and kindness. It would have been much more helpful for the doc to print out info for you instead of blaming your for not remembering or taking notes. Got charged for EEG results but did not even discuss it and when reminded of this she assured me that we did talk about the results. So of course I asked about the prognosis. "Normal". $$ Ka ching $$. Pretty rough on self payers. I go to Anchorage now.
This was the nastiest visit I have ever had. I agree with the above reviews that describe her as demeaning; her manner was inconsiderate, impatient, callous, intimidating. She refused to go over my past medical history, telling me that all of it was baseless and that to obtain a diagnosis I needed to start from scratch! She barely gave our questions time of day. I came to her suffering from acute ataxia and as part of the test she requested for me to stand up unassisted (which I hadn't been able to do for weeks!) After insisting for some time that I was able to stand and I still unable to rise to my feet, she dismissed the whole "test" with great impatience and a very rude "whatever". She showed no interest, no compassion, gave a very brief exam, was openly irritated by my disability and repeatedly criticized the way I was describing my problems. At the end of the visit, she basically told me 'it was all in my head'. Very frustrating and hurtful. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HER TO ANYONE!

I went for a nerve conduction test and she actually laughed out loud at my pain. Abusive and abrasive. Don't go to her for anything.
Just wants to push pills. If your over 80 she'll take your freedom if your under she'll take your sanity. I went for a sleep study just to renew my CPap script and she tried to insist I start a regimen of mood altering drugs, NO WAY. Then my mom gets stuck going to her and my mom is sharp, still gardens, drives, helps seniors, sews, reads, plays games, very active and healthy and this wack job dr tries to take her drivers license away. Im grateful she failed, my mom was in tears and quite upset that anyone would consider less than able. Stay away form this one folks. Small town doc for a reason.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
