Robert Ting's Online Review Report Card

Dr Ting is a very caring, thorough, and astute physician. Both my wife and I see him regularly as our family physician, and trust his competence completely.

A thorough professional.

Dr. Ting is wonderful! He is smart, well informed, extremely competent, and very personable! After my previous doctor retired I tried several other doctors in the area and was not happy. He is exactly what i was looking for!

Dr. Ting has been my family physician for about 12 years. I see him at least once a year, but I have seen him more frequently in recent years. I have a complex medical condition that requires judgment with medication. I am 64 years old and Dr. Ting is my third family physician. I have never had the experiences of the negative reviewers. He is always patient and gives me the time I need. There is no problem with his memory. He always gives me plenty of time for each visit. I have full confidence in his course of care and his knowledge of an ever-growing field. I think with the fairly recent reorganization of Moscow Family Medicine all of the M.D.s there are pressed for time.

I went to him twice. I will honestly never go again. This dr has very poor bedside manners. Did not listen to my needs, didn’t validate anything I was saying. Very cold, doesn’t seem to care and told me in his own round about way, that he doesn’t have any interest in mental health. He would rather shove medications down peoples throats than do anything natural. I had a very bad experience with this doctor and my husband and I will not be going to him ever again.

Dr. Ting is overall a decent physician. I have seen him for several years for everything my family needs. He listens to my concerns and has been willing to accommodate specific preferences in my care. Having delivered all of my children with him I would say that he is a bit episiotomy-happy but other than that a reasonable delivery doc. I suspect he honestly just got tired of waiting and wanted to go home. For the availability of physicians in this area, he is one of the better available.

Dr. Ting has a plethera of strange body language that sends the patient strong signals that he is just too busy or in a big hurry and cannot take the time to care for any patients. He can't remember what he has ordered in the past for a patient has no short term memory and refuses to work as a team member with specialist and doctors that are much smarter than him. I felt he was inferior and was unable to begin to take care of me or deal with my diagnosis. He didn't even try to educate himself on a rare and difficult diagnosis. Stay away from him. Highly disappointed in his ability as a doctor.

With respect to Dr. Ting; I've been seeing him since 2005 and the quality of care has been declining steadily. The time he spends in appointments is decreasing, as it the overall quality of the appointment. He recently made a comment to me congratulating me on quitting smoking. I've never smoked, and when I reminded him of this, he asked me if I was sure about that. I think I would know. He also downplays my concerns with respect to my family history of prostate cancer, telling me I'm too young for a PSA test. He flat out told me he didn't believe that I was spending 8-10 hours per week at the gym. Thanks for the support Doctor! His office staff... there's been a lot of turnover there and not all for the better. Billing mistakes that were "resolved" two-three years ago are suddenly in collections. The office staff is unwilling to correct their billing errors citing the age of the bill, even though it was supposed to have been corrected years back. These guys have a reputation for incorrect and double billing which is easy to pass off as a rare event until it happens to you. How sad for a doctor to lose patients over billing mistakes, but I don't see any other choice, it happens so often. It's time for me to look elsewhere for care.

Dr Ting is clearly in a hurry. He must just have too many patients to keep them straight. I've been seeing him for five years and in recent appointments he congratulated me for quitting smoking, which is great except I've never once smoked, and in the same conversation he called me fat. When I reminded him that I'd never smoked, he asked me if I was sure about that. I'm pretty sure I've never smoked. He refuses to allow me to have a PSA test despite a strong family history and some past prostate problems, and instead of offering suggestions for improving weight-loss success or improving my A1c score; he just tells me that I'm fat and that if I exercised more these things would improve. When I remind him I spend an average of 8 hours a week at the gym, he again asks me if I'm really sure about that. The billing office at Moscow Family Medicine frequently mis-bills and is quick to send items to collections despite promising to correct the billing issues. It's time to go elsewhere.

Dr. Ting has been our family physician for some time, we love dealing with a family practice doctor and feel that we always get excellent care not just from Dr. Ting but from the majority of the staff at Moscow Family Medicine.
