Centerstone's Online Review Report Card

The care is a joke. They are only good at billing your insurance for fraudulent care. Dr. Baig spends more time talking about how smart he thinks he is and himself than spending time with you. My first two appointments were the same thing, this moron practicing medicine telling me how lucky I was to see him. It couldn't be further from the truth. He is a true quak that should be committed himself. No wonder so many kill them selves after seeking treatment here. AVOID this place if you truly desire mental health care. I arrived at 3:30pm for a 3:40 appt with Dr. Baig and was told by the hefty useless gal at the front desk I was marked as a no show even though I was early. I had a bad feeling about this place from the beginning, and should have gone with my gut feeling. These are fraudsters promising help to disabled Veterans with PTSD/Depression, but their treatment of people is not good. AVOID at all cost!

Horrible! I did all the pre stuff, had my foster kiddos caseworker sign off on papers and had many back and forth conversations with the counselor and my kiddos school to coordinate sessions, but it never happened. All this had been going on since October 2024 and I was given a session date that would be after Christmas. Well the session date was finally here AND....the counselor Jennifer canceled! When I contacted her she stated that she was leaving the company anyways. So unprofessional! I was warned of this place,but thought I would give it a try, I wish I didn't! He is seeing a different counselor at a different place and was seen within a week. Don't bother with this place! ​

This place is horrible I wouldn't take a dead dog there for counseling g or any service they just want to bill Medicare Medicaid and screw the patient Do yourself a favor find somewhere else

I have always had a positive experience, especially with Chris. The only issue I've had is trying to recommend Centerstone to others because they don't always take other forms of insurance.

They gave me the Tools to rebuild my life and have been the most awesome group of peer support ever.

A lot of unprofessional staff and counselors that give false reports. They're suppose to be helping individuals and families, instead they are making it more difficult for real progress. The school was unaware of this counselors name? How are you unaware of an individual that is in a private room with children? My children were told to keep secrets and the counselor gave false reports with no backing. I saw no improvement in what i initially sent them to counseling for. Zero communication even after multiple attempts. The company didn't seem to care, and never returned my phone calls. I have also personally been a client and the woman whom say me seemed very uneducated and unexperienced. She also said things in the report that were false. I would stray away from this place especially involving children.

I like Centerstone in Alton, Illinois but I don't like that anyone can bring in a dog and say its a service dog when it isn't a service dog at all and the staff won't do anything about it. A service dog got attacked by another dog. And the other dog was not a service dog. What is centerstone gonna do when someone gets hurt by a fake service dog? Probably nothing cause they aren't doing anything to prevent it. And Centerstones moto is "Do No Harm" . They need to change they're moto

I would not recommend ANYONE get services from Centerstone in Carbondale. The counselors are inexperienced and recent graduates, who are just looking for their first job in the field. Dr. Carter is a really good psychiatrist. He only talks to patients on Skype and is never there in person, but still a good doctor. Most of the other staff are terrible at their jobs. The clients are almost exclusively drug addicts who are court ordered to go this place. If you only have a mental illness, you won't find many people there like yourself. If you only want to see the psychiatrist, you will be forced to see one of their counselors as well. You can't see a counselor any where else in the area. Even if you already see one at another facility. The staff quits all the time. The counseling staff changes at least once a year if not more. They don't want to work there. The counselors always leave to find better jobs. That's a sure sign there are many problems at this place. Don't get attached to seeing the same counselor. Believe me, they won't work there for very long. If you miss more than two counseling appointments, they will tell you that you will be dropped from services. They have to keep making enough money to keep this place open. Which is why you'll be forced to also see a counselor. A recent staff member made a joke about "player hating" and talked about how see doesn't like her father in group therapy. She needs therapy more than some of the clients. They hire any warm body with a degree. Totally inappropriate and incompetent. You can expect that at this place. It is very difficult to get a nurse to call you back, even if you have a medication issue. You just have to play phone tag, if they call back at all. The drug addicts laugh in group therapy about using drugs and getting arrested. Most of the group facilitators allow this to happen and won't say a word. These drug addicts are also rude. I wouldn't reccomend going to this facility. Unless you just don't have any other options.

If you value yourself and your mental health care, Do not go to this place. Incompetence abounds as they will penalize YOU by withholding your medication from you and not allow you to schedule appointments if you see the need to ever reschedule your appointment. They will tell you that you're not actively engaged in treatment if you reschedule. Sorry but people work and have things that come up. Health Care facilities should be able to accommodate a reschedule request right? Not Centerstone...nope. They will simply deny you service. Don't bother trying to reason or rationalize with them either. I spoke to the Director personally who just told me what I wanted to hear, only to do the exact opposite of what she said she would do and close out my file.

I have never been so emotionally upset by a doctor's office in my life! My son's psychiatrist wrote him a prescription that is not compliant with our insurance. I called the doctor's nurse to notify them of this issue twice and never received a call back. My son had a SAS screening and we were told that the issue with his medication would be resolved... this was two weeks ago. Our resource counselor can not even figure out where his prescription is or why no one is calling me back to communicate what can be done and what can be changed. I have tried seeking out other child psychiatrists, but availability is scarce. WHY IS MY CHILD NOT BEING TREATED WIH IMPORTANCE AND WHY IS COMMUNICATION SO BROKEN BETWEEN THE PAITENT AND OFFICE STAFF? WHY DOES NO ONE HAVE AN ANSWER?
