George Cavanagh's Online Review Report Card

i had a first time appt today 3/3/21 at your office 4201 mitchellville rd, bowie, md.  i traveler to appts by metro access, as such metro access gets u early and schedules your return trip after 1 hours of the appt. that happened today and i experienced the worst treatment and disrespect for being early. i followed all covid rules,  as instructed i was told to call before arriving, i did that, i was told by this angry woman that i had to call when i was at the front door, i did that. im on the bus with other elderly ppl needed to get to their destinations, this angry woman wanted me to give her my insurance information before exiting the bus while others were waiting.  you can't just stand on the bus, you stand you have to exit. that's due to safety for myself and other riders. i could have fell or tripped over one of the other seniors.  the driver was telling me to tell her to wait until i got in the office to pull out my insurance. then he joke, maybe me, being black, she probably didn't think you had insurance and she wanted proof before you got in.  was very upset.that was about 10 a.m. i sat and waited, other patients were coming in, escorted, filled out the necessary paper work, took their insurance, checked their temperatures. i got none of that.  i just sat and waited. at 11:09 a.m. i went to the desk and asked, since i new as a patient, i don't understand their procedures. people coming in and getting waiting on after me and i've been there over a hours and 1/2, others were seen and left.the lady at the front desk was rude, it cost me $6.50 coming and going on metro access and i didn't get seen.  why do people treat people so rudely and for no reason. i was never called by the doctor and then when i looked up it was 11:45 and the bus was out side waiting for me.  I request an explanation as to why i wasn't seen, i wasn't treated as a first time patient. i was given and paper work at 11:30 a.m after i informed them that they didn't give it to me nor took my temperature. they didn't forget to take my insurance card and i hope my insurance company is not billed.  no service was rendered. desiree parker<a href="mailto:ddp2627@gmail.com">ddp2627@gmail.com</a>240 437 7553

Very thorough and friendly

As a patient of Dr Cavanagh for 18 years, he is professional, knowledgable as a diagnostician, and he has been helpful in his referrals. The office staff is courteous. I cannot thank him enough for his excellent care. He is an exceptional doctor.

Dr. Cavanagh has been my doctor for many, many years. I followed him from Crofton to where he is now. He is an excellent doctor in every respect. He listens, explains everything well. This is a GREAT doctor with excellent knowledge, great at diagnosing and a 10+ at every part of being a doctor. Hope he doesn't retire ever!

I have seen Dr. Cavanagh several times and I have discussed with him issues that I have read from Dr. Oz and about various medications. He was well versed on a variety of medications and recent medical studies that relate to my situation. He listened to me, gave me adequate information and took appropriate time with me. I am very pleased with his service.

Dr. Cavanagh is one of the few doctors that actually listens to his patients. He never seems rushed and he will not hesitate to order testing if he sees fit. He is very cautious and is more likely to refer a specialist than most doctors. Highly recommended. His staff varies. Sometimes they are more helpful/friendly than others. Unfortunately they do contribute to the atmosphere of the overall experience.

I have been at this practice for 15 years, I usually see Rosie. I was going through some tough times and asked for a note for some time off work and the most they would give me was 3 days. That is Unacceptable, in my opinion. I am not a chronic complainer, but I am finding a new doctor because of this.

Have been going to Dr. Cavanagh for years. Listens well and is a good diagnostician. Will send you to a specialist when he sees signs of something that requires more in-depth testing. Office staff are more varied; some more responsive than others.
