List of Petre Ben's Reviews
I visited with Dr. Petri the first week in February 2022 at the request of his my pain specialist within the same practice. The MRI showed torn anterior and posterior labrum tears in the left hip. Pain in my hip, groin, leg and the knee. As a Senior, I am not athletic in the least. So this is, no sports injury. As a 42 year veteran nurse, I am cautious and appreciate being included in my care. Dr. Petri was rude, sarcastic, and I left not knowing what was going on, despite my own efforts to ask questions. What I have learned about this hip issue is by my own research. His Staff was not friendly at all. Sadly, I have to return for a follow up, which no doubt will bounce me back to my pain specialist, or, another Doctor for follow up. No problem! I will not recommend him, to trim a rose bush let alone do surgery! See someone else for more capable and compassionate care.
My surgery for a plateau fracture by Dr. Petre failed and I am crippled. No one in the practice seems willing to help me. Covid can explain why nobody answered the phone for over a month after surgery while I waited in a rehab/nursing home. But now, I think the hospital would just as soon forget me and what they did.
My surgery for a plateau fracture with Dr Petre failed and I am crippled. I very much wish I had waited for a knee replacement instead and found a doctor more suited to elderly patients. He was unavailable to me for months as the phone system was never answered, albeit this was 2020 and Covid.
I had the pleasure of being a patient of Dr. Petre's when I fractured my patella. Dr. Petre did an ORIF patella surgery. This was a very serious injury with a long recovery. Every step of the way from the front office, to Dr. Petre, to his PA and his staff, along with the hospital and follow up care as well as my physical therapy, I was utterly impressed with the care I was given. I would highly recommend Dr. Petre and the Anne Arundel Medical Group Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Specialist.
drained a bakers cyst from the rear of my rt knee. it refilled within a few days as he said it might.i called his office to arrange for a f/u appt and have left 3 tele messages over the last 3 days without so much as the courtesy of a reply. very disappointed.
This is the first time I've bothered to do one of these things, but having had bad experiences in the past with doctors pushing surgery and endless testing as the first option for problems, Dr. Petre was incredible. He took the time to make sure I fully understood everything and did a great job educating me on the pain I was experiencing and recommended conservative measures to help me feel better.
I thought Dr. Petre was condescending and impatient. I read at length his experience and wanted to speak with him about knee issues. I had been to King and Harries for shots in the knee but wanted to explore other options in which Petre specialized. He seemed a bit rude when reminding me of my visits with his colleagues as if I were going behind their back. I have since switched practices and will take my sons going forward to MedStar docs at Union Memorial. Dr. Gelfand, however, is wonderful.
I shattered my patella in June 2018 and had no idea just what a long process recovery would be (or that you could even break your patella!). I ended up requiring 3 surgeries (the original repair, a manipulation under anesthesia with arthroscopic scar tissue removal, and finally a hardware removal) over the course of 13 months, and I am so grateful for Dr. Petre and his team! They were absolutely amazing throughout each step, were always willing and available to answer my long list of questions, made me feel extremely comfortable, and gave me hope at times where I felt really hopeless. I would, without a doubt, recommend him and his team to anyone in need of orthopedic services; not only was the care I received top notch, but so was the support I received during a pretty challenging experience. They truly went above and beyond and I am so grateful to finally have my life (and knee) back!
Had an hip arthoscopy surgery done on May 28,2019. Had been in pain for 6 months straight. Went to Dr. Petre office in March. We discussed the xray and mri. Knowing surgery was probably gonna be needed I agreed on getting a cortisone shot. When the shot didn't work for that long I notified him telling him I believe surgery is the only option. With no hesitation his office sent me a surgery package with every detail on what I needed to do. His surgery scheduling nurse set the appointment up with no hesitation. With all that said I was pain free right afyer the surgery. In 3 weeks post op and still no pain. Dr. Petre and his whole staff is top notch. I would refer anyone to him. Thank you for helping me be pain free again.
He performed an arthroscopic clean up of my husband's knee based on an x-ray, and proceeded to give him additional cortisone shots in response to the continued pain and swelling. A second opinion -- complete with a MRI -- revealed Dr. Petre completely missed that my husband had a torn ACL. We concluded the year by having another surgery that necessitated more time off of work and weeks of PT. Between the surgeries, PT, follow up appointments and pain, we missed out on a year of our lives.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
