Dr Plavner is a rare breed. He still sees his patients and keeps track of their well being, rather than having a nurse practioner do the job for him. He takes time tom answer questions, and will discuss treatment alternatives. I will be sad once he retires.

Never met the good doctor, can only review his office policies. Which seem to limit the NPs to colds, flu, and other trivia. Despite my 20 years as a thyroid cancer survivor, and perfectly normal TSH level and complete comfort with my dosage, his practice would not renew my thyroid medication prescription until I spent a few hundred dollars to see an endocrinologist. That and a few other issues quickly disqualified this practice from continuing as my PCP.

I went to another doctor for about 30 years. I got tired of him acting like a pharmacist. Victor is a knowledgeable, and cooperative. He makes suggestions and is willing to discuss them with you. I should have switched a long time ago.

If you want to be treated like a 2nd class citizen, have your HIPAA rights violated, and be misdiagnosed with a major illness, most definitely go see Dr. Plavner and Maryland Primary Physicians! Quack.

My first appointment with Dr. Plavner was enough to confirm that I've found my GP for the duration! Dr. Plavner was personable, interested in what I had to share, a very good listener, and finally, extremely knowledgeable. I don't always feel a comfort level with doctors, during the first visit, but this time was different. I think I've found the next best option to my first doctor who used to make house calls when I was a kid. Know I am going to be listened to, and helped. Add to that, the staff at his office who are very caring and helpful, and I know no matter what happens, as this aging process goes forward ;.) I'll be taken care of here! Thank you!
