I dont know how this office gets such good reviews. My mom ws treated terrible. The receptionist was full of attitude because we came when she was chatting with someone in the back and she had to come out How dare we come for our appointment. Then she said we do not have an appointment that someone else made the appointment and it was in another location when I heard my mom make it and make certain that it was the Arlington Heights location because it closer to our home. She got pretty rude and said someone else made that appointment and it is in Des Plaines and it was with another doctor, not the one my mom requested, So we asked for another appointment and she again made it at the wrong location with another doctor that is NOT the one my mom wants to see. She is incompetent and has a bad attitude and she is hurting this business. If my mom wasn't in need to see this doctor (was recommended by friends she knows well), we would not go back there and I want the business owner to see this. This receptionist should not be working with people. This is a service and she needs to come out with a smile and be inviting not try to blame her mistakes on an imaginary person, she is always the ONLY person who is there when we come for the appointments, both times she was the one scheduling the appointment, both times we came and she said the doctor is not there because he is at another location. Is this a game to her? She is disrespecting clients and treating people like they are idiots. I wont stand for that. She has no respect for people or their time. This needs to be addressed.
Shockwave therapy I've got a variety of chronic foot problems. I have had pain with every step I took. Dr.. fFlood has been working with me to relieve the constant pain in my right foot. I've had cortisone shots & new shoe inserts. I was sent for PT which included Dry needling & it helped a little but I still had pain. Dr Flood didn't give up on me and I have had EPAT SHOCKWAVE therapy on my foot. It targets the pain, treats the soft tissue and improves right now circulation furniture. I have had 4 of 5 energizedtreatments and it has improved my pain by about 75%. If you have issues and surgery is not a good option you may want to check into this.
I would like to formally express my dissatisfaction with the treatment I received from the First Step Foot Care podiatrist's Dr. Kellen Cohn assistant the named Josh in Des Plaines IL, They were rude and unhelpful, failing to explain how to position my feet on the platform for the foot X-rays.Their demeanor was discourteous & lacked professionalism. It's concerning that individuals without proper training in patient care are attending to patients. I urge you to address this complaint to ensure a more respectful and professional environment for all patients.
Billing has no idea what they are doing. No way to get a hold of the doc. They have a totally useless patient portal...it was 'updated' and all my records disappeared. Medical support staff seems more interested in congregating in the hallways vs taking care of patients. Repeat, no way to get a hold of the doc! You can't even call the office directly. You need to go through a central scheduling center and messages/phone calls are never returned. Went three times and it felt like I was being told not to come back, so I wont.
I have been seeing Dr. Ferrari for several years for routine care. He is thorough, patient and pleasant. Then, in 2023 I had a very serious foot problem. He brought me through a lengthly recovery process that ultimately ended with his doing surgery (at Lutheran General Hospital) for a final fix. He did not give up. Dr. Ferrari is one of the best doctors I've ever had, of any type. All of the office and support staff are great at First Step in Des Plaines. Always polite and accommodating when you call for an appointment. Or if you ask for a "call back", or have a question, there is always a response within a few hours.
Dr Rahimi and Dr Roeske are extremely knowledgeable, professional and collaborative. Highly recommend this practice, both in Des Plaines and Arlington Heights.
Dr Flood takes time to TALK to me and be responsive to my needs. I can't say enough.
Dr. Cohn did procedure on two of my toes that had nail ingrown problem. He was very good. Procedure was quick. I do not have the ingrown toe nail problem anymore. I very happy with the service I received. Dr was very patient, professional and polite. Thank you!
If Google allowed 500-star reviews, Dr. Flood would earn every one of them. I'm an active person and have endured chronic plantar fasciitis pain for years. Typically, the pain would last for a month or two, but would resolve with standard treatment. (Icing, stretching, night splints, therapy, cortisone, etc.) A few months later, the pain would return, but conservative care would again resolve the problem. That is, until this past 12-month period, when my condition worsened. This time, every step caused off-the-charts 10/10 pain, unlike any I had experienced before. Also, the pain was not limited to one spot, but encompassed numerous areas on the bottom of my foot. This situation altered my entire life. On days when remote work was not viable, I had to Uber to the office, as walking was not possible. A social life with nights out became out of the question, as did running, working out and anything else that required being on my feet. Simple tasks of daily living became overwhelming. I had previous podiatric care that didn’t alleviate my pain and consulted an orthopedic doctor, who said if nothing else worked, surgery might be the only option. I was certain I'd never return to normal life. Then, dark clouds cleared, the sun came out and, despite no evidence of the sea parting, a miracle ensued... I found Dr. Flood. I was referred to him by my sister, who, under Dr. Flood’s care, had tremendous results for her complex foot problems. My sister mentioned that Dr. Flood sometimes utilized “shock wave therapy” a cutting-edge treatment for plantar fasciitis that no other podiatrist I’d seen had offered or discussed. After a comprehensive initial evaluation, I knew Dr. Flood was special. His encyclopedic-like knowledge of the foot and its anatomy immediately impressed me. He assured me treatment would resolve my pain and that nearly every patient who had undergone shockwave therapy had a successful outcome. No other doctor had conveyed such confidence, and that attitude gave me hope for a return to normal life. After ONE shockwave treatment (out of 7 total), I felt like a different person. I walked out of the office pain-free! Dr. Flood told me that could happen, and said I likely would have a “rebound” effect after a few days, which I did. Still, the difference in my pain level was dramatic. I have now had 5 shockwave treatments with Dr. Flood and feel amazing. I’d say 75-80% of the pain is gone, and I can now walk to work, go to the gym, hang out with friends and family, grocery shop, etc. with nary a thought. I still have not tried to run or even walk long distances, per Dr. Flood’s recommendations. He said it could take some time before I could safely return pain-free to all “high stress” activities. My wish is that this review gets out to the countless people who suffer with life-altering foot pain. You may have already seen a plethora of podiatrists, therapists, or surgeons, without success, but there IS hope. I implore you to make an appointment with Dr. Flood. His care changed my life and hopefully can do the same for you.
Best foot doctor ever! Very gentle and caring! I was petrified and Dr. Flood put me right at ease and he's a great shit giver!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
