I have been seeing Dr. Wyhinny since Dec. 2018 and I could not ask for a better or more experienced retina specialist. I don’t know why others are unhappy with him, but is always pleasant, professional and answers all questions. He has tons of experience and I trust him implicitly with guarding my eyesight.
His knowledge about the subject is very good. He is well-groomed and professional. He is my favorite doctor.
Very knowledgeable--he can get short at times but he's dealing mostly with older folks who can be trying. H e generall has a room full of patiemts so his time is pressed. He's down to earth when you talk to him and a caring individual.
Have been seeing Dr Wyhinny over 4 years for macular degeneration. Can't say enough good things about him and his staff.
Very smart, experienced doctor. What he's lacking in personality is more than made up for with his skills.
This doctor had a very unpleasant personality that affected my experience. His directions during the treatment we’re not always clear, and he would angrily repeat the command if not followed. He asked me not to close my eye during the procedure but when on two occasions he pinched my skin with his finger nail against my eye socket I winced and he scolded me not to do so. They scheduled me for a follow up but I have no intention of ever seeing this doctor again!
this physician is the most impersonal physician i have encountered. sometimes greeted, a bit rough holding forehead to the equipment, mumbles a bit, just appears to be going through the motions. his office is like a bunch of little robots that put you in a room, out of a room, in , out . and sometimes dont even share that youre supposed to go or come. staff who sets appts is better. plan about 2 1/2 hours for your visit, i ve seen some patients bring carry out
I had a similar experience to S in 9/2015. I was referred to Wyhinny for a possible retina tear. I had a 3:30 pm appointment and left the office after 9:30 pm. He was impatient and rude. I did not complain to him or his staff because I was at their mercy and had no other options because it was an emergency. When I asked Wyhinny about the latest laser technologies, he got mad that I questioned him and immediately rebuffed the technique. His defensiveness clearly indicated to me that he was not keeping up with the science. He was more comfortable with the stone age method of cryotherpy. It's a blunt method that doesn't require much precision, something a 70 year old could have success with. You just freeze half of the eye ball and you're pretty sure to get the tear. Actually, I was somewhat relieved that he did not use a laser. The thought of a 70 year old shooting a laser into my eye had me on edge for the first 3 hours of my 6 hour ordeal. There should be a mandatory retirement age for this profession. The only reason Wyhinny has any patients at all has to be because of all the emergencies and the lack of retina specialists. He's a stereotypical, crabby old man and puts a bad light on the entire medical profession.
My Mother went blind because of him. He treats elderly people like cattle, won't answer any questions and is so arrogant. I wish I could go back in time and have been more educated about macular degeneration. This guy is a degenerate and a demon and continues to grow richer off of hopeless souls. I would give -0 stars but I couldn't write this if I didn't give it 1 star.
This doctor screams at his patients when they disagree with him. Tells patients to SHUT UP! Horrible bedside manner!!

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
