She did my cervical fusion Feb 2019 fantastic results
If you have a bad out-come, be prepared for her to drop you like a hot potato and leave you in pain! 1st surgery went well. Second surgery with her resulted in a "non-union" and remained in pain. Made me wait in her office for an hour only for her staff to tell me she could not see me even though I had an appointment. Then made a new appointment and she canceled that on me after wasting so much time when I could have found a GOOD doctor who actually CARED! She doesn't even care enough to talk to you herself. She sends her staff to do it.
Dr. Foroohar was to assist in an operation for my severe spinal stenosis with my orthopedic doctor. I was to meet with her before the surgery & received a call from her office the day before my appt. stating that since I only had Medicare Part A & B and no supplement, I should come with the money Medicare would not cover and that she would not meet with me or assist in the surgery without this money upfront before even seeing her. This was the first I heard of all this and was quite upset. We are very low on money & assumed that since my doctor's billing office would later take a pymt. plan for his extra fee, I didn't see why she couldn't do the same. I said I'd have to get back to her after I let my husband know what was going on. Before I even had a chance, I got a call back from her office stating that my appt. w/her was cancelled because I was "disrespectful." Come to find out from my dr's office, that he will only work w/her in the surgery. I was suddenly left without any doctor for my much needed surgery. Come to find out from the hospital financial dept. that it is against Medicare's policy in there manual to do ask for payment upfront. I am so distraught over the whole situation. What kind of doctor would treat a person she's never talked to or met so terribly?!
I have had 2 procedures done, one in 2004 L5 S1 partial disc removal, and this year C6 C7 cervical discectomy. I have nothing but accolades for her professionalism, attention to detail, communicative, and her performance. This also goes to the Staff she has, both in her office and colleagues she works with at Northwest Community Hospital. By far, if you are in need of a Neurosurgeon, she is top notch and one of the best doctors I have ever been associated with. Highly recommend you visit her if your future requires you to.
I have been in pain since 2018 from herniated discs at C5/C6 and C6/7. I went to a different surgeon (referred by my GP who I swear by) that scared me by saying every pain in my body was from herniated discs and very dryly said "you need surgery. I finally got to the end of my rope when the cough from COVID had me in such pain shooting down my arm. I decided I had to do something. Dr. Foroohar sent me for MRI, Xrays, & EMG. She described exactly what she thought was going on. I was overhearing a conversation between clients in her waiting room and one was describing my same symptoms and said Dr. Faroohar fixed her a year ago. Then I go downstairs and the registrar for my xray said "Oh you have Dr. F. She is terrific. She did my surgery (showed me the scar) and said she wished she hadn't waited 10 years in pain. Dr. Foroohar had me on the table 6 weeks after first visit (by my urging to get it done for deductible and out of pocket before EOY). She made it happen. I had no idea that she was going to have a nerve specialist monitoring my nerves all through the surgery (found out afterward that not all surgeons do this and people were saying they were still having problems but didn't have the EMG monitoring done during their surgeries)... This was a pleasant surprise!!! I had bruises in my palms and feet and forearms when I woke up and knew exactly what they were from. I am now exactly 1 month out from surgery and the nerve pain is almost gone. She let me know that my nerve had been compressed for so long that it may take some time to learn how to act "normal" again. My ONLY pain since the surgery is the muscles. I am 4mm taller and my neck/shoulders etc. are readjusting to my neck now being straight and not hunched over trying to make room for the herniated disc. I don't write reviews often, but I am ELATED with the prospect of getting back on my kayak after 2 years of very little yaking for fear of pain. I would send my own family even my daughter to Dr. Faroohar in a SECOND!!! And that is saying something!!!!
Dr. Foroohar is the best. She took time to explain my condition, options, and was very meticulous with details concerning the surgeries. I just had my second surgery with her, both from herniated discs but also arthritic conditions. My first, 4 years ago, was a cervical discectomy with fusion. My nerve pain was gone immediately. My second was earlier this year with my lower back, a laminectomy and microdiscectomy. Sciatic nerve pain was gone immediately post surgery. The part I was most thankful for was that I had a MRI prior to an appt with her. The radiologist read it as no herniated disc, just some arthritic changes. I thus continued with physical therapy but then the pain became much worse. Dr. Foroohar evaluated the MRI prior to my appt, and she saw the herniated disc, had the radiologist review it again and the report then was changed to acknowledge the disc problem. This was all done before my appt so once I had my consult, we were already setting up surgery for 6 days later. Amazing and so thankful for Dr. Foroohar and her wonderful staff.
Dr Forhoohar is a brilliant surgeon. She knew immediately what was wrong with just my description of my symptoms. She is overly cautious & professional on all counts. She made sure all my MRIs were clear as well as CT scan & EMG. She updated me about my surgery and what would occur. She put with me a pain a management Dr until my procedure. She gives you her full attention & never waste your time. Her staff is wonderful and follows through on everything. I can not say enough good things about her. She really saved my life, as my pain was unbearable & is now non-existent. Don’t walk- run to see her if you have spinal issues or even suspect it could be neurological or spinal. I am a RN myself & I would recommend her to everyone!!!!!!
Dr .Foroohar is a wonderful surgeon, always giving you time for questions, and a great office staff. I have been thru 19 surgeries in my life time and none can compare to Dr Foroohar and staff

Dr. Foroohar was very patient with analyzing my neck to have a successful outcome for my neck surgery. I have full mobility in my neck now.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
