List of Bernard E Lakemaker's Reviews
Dr. Lakemaker is by far the best primary care doctor I have ever had. He truly cares about his patients and you never feel like you're just a number in his office.
My family and I have been seeing Dr. Lakemaker for over 15 years. He’s professional, direct, timely and just plain down to earth. I suffer from “ white coat syndrome” and he always makes me laugh and calms me down. Great family doctor who actually cares about his patients and knows them personally. Front desk staff is great too, very personable.
Fantastic medical counsel...DR Lakemaker is very open and inclusive of your medical issues and what you need tio do to correct them.
***** Fortunate to have him
My son plays football at a nearby college. I live 800 miles away, and as a parent of course I worry about his well being and access to good care while he is away. Whether it be a physical for sports or general care, Dr. Lakemaker and his staff are always efficient, courteous and professional. I highly recommend him as a trusted go to for any family.
I can’t imagine anyone that would say something negative about Dr. Lakemaker. I’ve been seeing him for over 15 years and he is simply a fantastic doctor.
I see someone posted about how Dr. Lakemaker doesn't use tech-based scripts as a reason why he is "horrible", but when I go to see a doctor, I don't need to feel like I'm walking into an Apple store. I could care less if he used pigeons to get the job done. What matters is his quality of service! I'm in the medical field and know that docs like to write their notes into computers because they can then make more $ from the visit. Where time is money, if the doc wrote notes after the visit, that time is not billable. Also, research has also found that docs who use computers during the visit end up missing up to 20% of the information shared by the patient. So, Kudos to Dr. Lakemaker for putting his patients before billing!! YOU end up paying for the technology anyway, but that is another issue beyond the scope of what makes a great doctor...PROS: Dr. Lakemaker is one of the very few doctors left who actually takes the time to listen to his patients. I am very picky over who I trust to be making decisions about my health and he passes each test, every time. I've seen many other docs in the last couple decades and they do the same thing- give you attention and actually listen to what you are saying on the FIRST visit or two, but after that, they just assume they have you as an ongoing patient and communication stops. Not Dr. Lakemaker- he is consistently attentive and doesn't treat you like you don't know anything about your own body. He also responds to you in a timely matter if you need to speak to him directly, whereas other doctors make sure they can bill for their time by making you schedule an office visit just to get an answer to a question. Also, he remembers everything! You do not need to repeat yourself each time you go see him.CONS: I agree. The main front office staff is horrible. She is the opposite of Dr. Lakemaker. She is short with you and just rude. She has also not been responsible with getting prescriptions taken care of on a few occasions. There is a second staff who is great but she is rarely there. Then again, I'm not there to order a latte.FYI- I moved since starting to see Dr. Lakemaker and now drive 1 hour to see him because he's worth every mile!
The worse doctor and customer service experience ever. No follow ups on appointments ever, still using old school saving data and prescriptions technology - paper. Last time I was there in the morning was greeted with unhappy, finishing her breakfast falling food on desk chewing face - that’s disgusting and ugly. After all I receiving letter from doctor and he don’t want work with me because I’m not willing. GFYS
I have been seeing Dr. Lakemaker since I was in my early 20's (20 years now) and he has been consistent since DAY ONE! Wait times are only 10-15 min, he actually listens to what you say (and remembers it years later), explains what your condition is caused by, what can help... even shows you a pic or model of what he's talking about. He doesn't make you feel stupid when you ask questions and answers in "plain English" but will give you technical jargon without confusing you. Bedside manner just can't be found anywhere these days. He's both professional and cares. Only complaint I have is his front office staff is really short with me. She seems bothered if I call, but I put up with it since I get excellent treatment during the visits.
He is great. Spends as much time as you need.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
