I contacted Aimee about foot pain in a toe joint from a bone spur and arthritis that was making it painful for me to stand and walk. Doing simple household tasks and going to the grocery store had become uncomfortable, let alone anything else I might want to do. I had spent a considerable amount of time and money getting better shoes, going to physical therapy, and had seen an orthopedic surgeon and was getting ready to schedule surgery. I was just about ready to cut my foot off, but was also interested in a less invasive treatment and spoke to Aimee about seeing if acupuncture could help. I honestly had some concerns about how effective it would be and wanted a “now” solution, but she encouraged me while helping have some perspective of realistic expectations for either option. I committed to seeing her once a week for six weeks - which overall was a significantly smaller commitment than surgery recovery - and by the end of those weeks I was completely pain free. It has now been several YEARS since then and I have had NO relapse in my chronic foot pain. Aimee Higgins is absolutely AMAZING. I have never met a kinder medical professional who was willing to listen to all the problems I had, and who has used her skills with acupuncture to help my body begin to treat the problems and heal. With her help, my retinas are now much healthier, and facial pressure has been relieved. She has also been able to increase the blood flow to a complicated area of scar tissue. Blood vessels have reappeared in formerly "dead" tissue, the scar no longer pulls at other muscles, and slowly but surely, I am seeing healing to this damaged area. I never thought this would be possible!! I am so grateful to her for her expertise and kindness in these sensitive areas.
