List of Athletico Physical Therapy's Reviews
Athletico met and exceeded all my expectations! I wish to thank Andrew and Melissa for getting me back on my feet. They were professional, knowledgeable, caring, compassionate and kind at all times throughout my therapy sessions. The entire staff at Atletico treated me with the utmost respect and kindness. Thank you also to Carli and Nancy at the reception desk. Athletico is the BEST and I will recommend to all my friends in need of therapy.
I went to Athletico looking for help as I was training for the Chicago Marathon. I was having a lot of quad and IT band problems. I worked predominantly with Margaret (Meggie) Kania, PT DPT. She was exceptional. She was able to identify my problem and needs and put together a program that addressed it perfectly and in a very understanding, calm, supportive yet professional manner. I was able to finish the marathon which was something very important to me. I would not have been able to do it without Meggie's help and the great staff at Athletico. I would highly recommend Meggie and her staff for you physical therapy needs without hesitation.
My experience at Athletico Barrington was with Lori for hand therapy. As a pianist I was very concerned about the recovery and range of motion. Lori is fantastic! Very thoughtful, very caring and very knowledgeable. I would highly, highly recommend occupational therapy for the hand at Athletico Barrington. There is none better!
I spent almost 9 months with the Athletico Barrington team following my surgery to fix my tibia plateau break. They took me from from only being able to use one leg and needing a walker to back to fully functioning and jogging. My therapist was Meggie K -> to say she was fantastic is an understatement -> knowledgeable, listening, encouraging ("Just do better" became a go-to summary when I'd start slacking off), worked with my surgeon, constantly adapted treatments to push me further along, and was great to work with on a personal level. (A big plus given how much time we spent together.) The other therapists are great as well - but I clearly had a favorite. The assistants and other support staff at this location also get high marks- pleasant, helpful, etc. If you need PT help, my experience working with this team couldn't have been better and really exceeded my expectations.
Below is a letter I wrote to the clinic manager after completing my prescribed therapy. Matt, On Wednesday of this week I concluded my therapy sessions with Andy. I am writing to provide you with some feedback on the sessions and your staff. My doctors diagnosis of a range of motion restriction in my right hip is one that I'd assume a therapist looks at as somewhat non-descript. It seems like alot of questions need to be asked to really get to where the patients problem might be. I found Andy's attention to that matter to be exemplary. He was very thorough and asked plenty of questions about where I saw my limits. He then conducted his own tests to validate what I was saying and what he was thinking. Perhaps most impressive was once we'd started therapy he steadily checked on my status and condition each visit so that he could either continue on a treatment path or make necessary deviations. I'm sure that's common amongst therapists but it's very appreciated by patients. His bedside manner was a great match to mine which may not always be the case with other patients but I found his clever banter to be a good diversion if I was getting fatigued on a particular exercise. In my opinion, he's a great therapist with the right mix of professional and personal skills. When I went onto the floor to continue exercises I found the assistants you have on staff to be equally capable. I worked with numerous people here, all of which were good, but most often with Melissa or Nikki. I want to mention Melissa and Nikki in particular. Nikki demonstrates an admirable willingness and enthusiasm in her work. She can be as happy helping a patient through a difficult exercise as she is folding towels when they've finished in the dryer. I've even see her pick up calls at the desk just because it's ringing. She demonstrates a "do whatever it takes" attitude which is exactly what I think patients need to witness. Whether in clinic or at home, we need to do that as well to put our ailment in the rearview mirror. Melissa is great at running floor exercises. She is patient and accommodating and a stickler for technique. I value her attention to that since our time in the clinic is to learn the right way to perform the exercises while at home. She is also very pleasant and asks friendly questions about other activities a patient may have outside of therapy. They both are great conversationalists which is essential when you have 30 minutes on the floor. The front desk staff of Carli, Nanci and the others are so capable. Anchored by Carli, they run a great operation. They are the first and last Athletico people a patient sees and therefore have the task of first and last impressions. Upon arriving, I found myself and many others welcomed by name which makes a difference. The same name recognition occurs when exiting the facility. Numerous times my existing appointments needed to be juggled or more added and each time they found an acceptable solution that fit comfortably into my schedule. They too are great conversationalists, as they must be. They are friendly and demonstrate a genuine interest in patients activities outside of therapy. One last comment is on how you've created an entrenched friendliness in all of your staff. Anytime I'm in the clinic I can expect a hello from staff that I've never worked with, staff that last worked on me a month ago or in the case of Jen, Lori and yourself years ago. That creates in me a level of familiarity and comfortability with your organization. It makes me want to return when needed. I don't look forward to the next time I'll need therapy but I do look forward to having your team help me through it. Thanks for listening. Dave MacKenzie
Very organized and professional facility. Carly & Nancy work tirelessly to satisfy appointment needs. Meggie is a great listener and problem solver who diagnosed and helped me resolve a nagging hip problem in a matter of weeks. Lori guided me through a very effective rehab program for a severely broken wrist. These therapists are informative, compassionate, and dedicated to helping you help yourself. I'd highly recommend them to anyone.
This is an absolutely wonderful place to do physical therapy. The staff are all amazing. Everyone is so helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Megan, I would not have made the great recovery that I did if it were not for your help. Thank you!
My experience here for PT was a great. From Carly at the front desk greeting you by name to working with a true pro like Jen D for the therapy - I would highly recommend them. Jen was friendly and professional and I would recommend her for any PT needs.
I had a "four corner fusion' on my right wrist (my dominant hand). My occupational therapy lasted about 6 weeks; Lori was my therapist and I could not be happier with her work with me. Not only does she have a boatload of knowledge and experience but she is truly a lovely person. Lori listens, responds to questions and concerns and gives exercises and therapies that are appropriate for the stage the patient is at. I felt like she was my cheerleader and I benefitted so much from working with her. Having someone who specializes in hands was important to me. I highly recommend Lori and the Barrington Athletico in general.
World class therapists and staff at this location. My OT, Lori, was amazing at keeping my rehabilitation on track and keeping my spirits up. Great workers and awesome people.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
