He performed my 1st surgery in 2002. It failed. (redundant colon w/ prolapse). He performed a circular staple technique in 2004 or 2005. A different surgeon referred me to Mayo Clinic in 2006, where I was told I needed a total bowel reconstruction for the damage which was done. Very long story short; I had my 7th surgery last year 2022 for a stimulator implanted into my lower spine in order to reduce incidences of fecal incontinence. I was 53 at the start of this nightmare. I will be 73 in May 2023. Quality of life has been horrible. I DO NOT recommend this surgeon. I requested my medical records from his office but they were destroyed. Do your research. I should have sued him for negligence or lack of skill, but I didn't. I would give him zero stars!

One of the best doctors around!

His dissatisfactory surgery has left me with pain and inconvenience for 2 months so far. When he did a FLEX scope to evaluate his own surgery, he stated that everything was fine, and I would have to live with the debilitating conditions. When my wife and I wanted to discuss further, he rudely said he didn't have any time for us. He is arrogant and has a his-way or no-way approach. I would not recommend him for that reason alone, even if the surgery had been marginally successful.

This team is not only talented but very kind and compassionate as well. I have never had a doctor take the time to answer all my questions with such attention to detail and patience. Dr. Ondrula has a very positive and friendly bedside manner that eased the anxiety I was feeling while hospitalized and after. RN Christie is incredibly helpful with my questions, appointments and my employer in a remarkably timely manner. I'm grateful for the excellent care.

In 2016 Dr.Ondrula saved my life! I probably had one of the worst, complicated cases of Diverticulitis that Dr. Ondrula and his team had ever seen! I don't think there is a better choice, you can have the confidence that Dr.Ondrula and his team are the best choice !!!

DR.ONDRULA SAVED MY LIFE!!! A close friend of mine, that is a current patient of Dr.Andrula, refered me to him March 2018. I called him and briefly explained the issues I was experiencing to and he immediately sent me to have a CT scan at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, which I went and had immediately. Dr.Andrula then called me back personally the next day and told me he couldn’t help me surgically and I need to get to an oncologist immediately because I had cancer, Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, which needed to be addressed right away. He also gave me three referrals of oncologist to make an appointment with that day. He was so compassionate and caring and asked me to let him know how things were progressing. This is the first time I am letting him know what a fantastic Dr. he is in this Public forum. DR. ANDRULA, due to your outstanding action on your Oath to your medical profession my life has been saved. I am now in total remission of my cancer since August 2018. What a wonderful doctor! He handled my very complicated surgery (and simpler follow-up surgery) with such skill and kindness. I am beyond grateful to him and his staff. A+ for communication and being able to explain everything, as well as for his high degree of technical skill.
