Jonathan Kaufman's Online Review Report Card

I spent most of my childhood going to see Dr. Kaufman very frequently. I had continuous health issues and would sometimes be in the office multiple times a week. Dr. Kaufman has always been a light in dark times, he was always kind to me when I was VERY shy in my younger years. He never pushed medications if there were not necessary which I think is very important. As I got older he truly listened to what I thought and felt about each situation. He is never condescending or rude. I owe so much to Dr. Kaufman and the rest of the staff at the practice. I wish I could go there for the rest of my life because I do not think there is a better doctor out there.

I have been taking my daughter to see Dr. Kaufman since she was a baby. He has always been very thorough with our office visits. He listens to concerns & addresses developmental milestones. He's also great with my daughter, who is very shy. She never talks to hik when we are there, but loves to talk about him when he leave. I'm very happy with the care we have received from Pediatric Associates.

The office staff was unfriendly, and the office policy difficult and inflexible (i.e. they had limited flu vaccines, told me to call as soon as they send out the email to be sure to get a spot in the next clinic. I did that, just to be told that I could not get a shot unless I had a physical due to office policy (information that was new to me), and they did had not room for a physical appointment before the flu clinic and would not reserve a spot for me. I had to get the shots at the county clinic). Despite all the red flags, I still continued to give them a chance. Each time I called during off hours (a total of 3 times in 6 months), I received a very rude attitude from the Dr. The last straw was when, two weeks into a medication, my son developed a reaction that the pharmacist advised me to contact the Dr about, who proceeded to scold me for calling and explained that off hours was for an emergency, which meant my son "could not breath" or has signs of "menengitus". I left the office a month later, and on the day I picked up my records, they mailed out an invoice charging me for that call. I have no idea how this office managed to win any awards (or keep business as my friend left for the same reasons).

Good knowledge

Dr. Kaufman and the other doctors in the practice do not allow parents to have their own opinions. They do not listen and get angry if you challenge their opinions. We had a bad experience where they challenged our parental rights when we took our daughter to another doctor for a second opinion. They are punctual but that is about the only thing they are good at. The staff is not courteous. They also have no knowledge in the area of breastfeeding.
