List of Amit Patel Md's Reviews
I thought I had a kidney stone back in October of 2021. Turned out to be a tumor, which Dr Patel was able to surgically remove in February 2022. I had an excellent experience with him and his staff.
My husband was a patient of Dr Patel when dealing with an inability to pee. The experience was discouraging to say the least. Dr Patel did some tests and ordered some scripts and concluded my husband’s prostate was enlarged and the bladder stretched to a point beyond repair. He said there was nothing to be done, and to return in six months to see if anything had changed. This was difficult news for an otherwise healthy man who was now on a catheter to hear. During this life-changing-for-us consultation, Dr Patel was distracted by non emergency texts to which he was responding. We sought another opinion from Dr Jeffrey Pearl with UroPartners (my review is also on this site). Our experience with Dr Pearl was dramatically different. He listened, explained our options, and ultimately performed a TURP to deal with the enlarged prostate, a procedure never even presented by Dr Patel. Long story short—my husband is well again!!!
Absolutely would highly recommend Dr. Patel. He is very easy to talk with which is rare for DMG physicians and I've seen a number of them. He hears what you are saying and addresses your concerns. Explains his ideas thoroughly.
Dr Patel is truly a "miracle worker". He performed surgery to repair my failed mesh bladder lift from years ago and also removed a remaining ovary. The surgery was on 1/6/2021. Today, I am back to normal!! I can't say enough good things about Dr Patel and his staff!!!!
What should have been 1 surgery, turned into 3 major surgeries and several mini in office surgeries. I went in for a pelvic organ prolapse. A sling was put in and I was told this would help aid in things prolapsing again. I had 2 years of issues with it. Part of the sling kept poking through the surface causing me and my husband pain. I went in to the office several times to have it cut back. My 2nd surgery was to remove scarred tissue from the surgery that was raised and causing pain. Finally, my 3rd surgery was to have the sling removed. I have not had any issues since then. (October) On top of all the money I had to pay to Dr. Patel, the hospital and the anesthesia, I had 2 years of pain and 2-3 months for each surgery that my husband and I could not have intercourse. Dr Patel told me that for the 3rd surgery I would not have any out of pocket for his service or for the anesthesiologist. (Because he had an agreement with the anesthesiologists). We confirmed this 3 times with him, the last being right before going in for surgery. However, I still received a bill from the anesthesiologists for near $1000. I contacted his office several times about this (as well as Champion Anesthia, who said they would look in to it and get back to me) and not until 4 months later when I saw Dr Patel for my follow up, did he say that that was only for out of network insurance. And, the next week I got a call saying they had sent my account to collections. (without getting back to me). So, I took care of that right away to try to keep my credit in good standing. (Thanks for the follow through with responding back to people from both professional medical businesses) Also, the front office personnel that he has had over the past year is unprofessional in their mannerisms and they messed up my appointments and billing. And, the rolling of the eyes from the young front lady is completely unacceptable.
My Mom is a patient of Dr. Patel and he treated/continues to treat her for bladder cancer. He takes time, patience in explaining the treatments, listening and overall excellent care of my Mom. We are very happy with Dr. Patel, he is one of the BEST
Dr. Patel is a very knowledgable doctor and great surgeon. He answers all your questions and concerns in terms you can understand. His office staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Amit Patel.
After several years of fighting various degrees of leakage and incontinence, my mother-in-law was referred to Dr. Patel. He is a very professional, thorough, and kind man. He spent time explaining different options to us, giving pros and cons, and helped us make a decision as to the best approach. We tried several minimal invasive options first and finally opted for sleeve surgery. This decision was a life changing event for my mother-in-law. She is finally dry and has a quality of life that she never imagined at her age. Our family is so appreciative of Dr. Patel and his staff for the success of the surgery, the professionalism throughout the process and the quality of life she can now enjoy. I would highly recommend Dr. Patel to anyone who struggles with urinary problems. He is truly awesome.
I have recommended Dr. Patel to several people because I am impressed by his training (Cleveland Clinic & University of Chicago Hospital Urology), his skill at explaining prostate cancer treatment options, and his thoroughness & patience in answering my questions. Dr. Patel examined me & ordered a pre-procedure MRI so that he had additional medical information on my condition before surgery. I had explored options with a urologist and a radiation oncologist before deciding on Dr. Patel.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
