I am extremely disappointed and sad to share with other patient this DR is a shame to the medical community. I consider my self an educated consumer with extensive background in health care. If you are looking for a DR with no interest to truly investigate all options to help you then stay away! After my visit I felt helpless, offended and hopeless. I understand in modern medicine the strategy is more focused on treating symptoms however a good Dr must consider all potential risk factors.

I was Dr. A's patient in 2006 in the ICU at Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls, SD (I believe this is the same Dr. Assimacopoulos). I was a 21 year old college student at the time and he was able to find the right diagnosis and treatment for my symptoms (Lemierre's syndrome) that saved my life. I never got the chance to personally thank Dr. A, so this review is my thank you. Today I live in Waco, TX and work as a palliative care social worker in the ICU. Thank you Dr. A for your influence.
