Want him bact as my psych doc
Great doctor
if it were not for Chandra, I would have been hospitalized or possibly even dead after the damage Maggie Ackerman did in her refusal to treat my anxiety and bipolar disorder seriously. He actually listens and takes his patients problems seriously and works with you, as oposed to being authoritarian. I have recomended him to several people. This has been my first positive experience with any psychiatrist, and that says a lot.
Terrible uncaring doctor who is mean to everyone.
Most of the people who have had positive things to say about this man HAVE to be from his nursing staff. Because everything about my experience with him was terrible. The waiting time takes hours, his staff is cranky and rude, and he's just a jerk. If you're lucky, he'll maybe spend ten minutes with you if he feels like it. Because quite frankly, he doesn't care. I'm not even convinced that he knows his stuff when it comes to psychology. I've majored in it myself, and I've caught him saying things that are wrong several times, basic things that are "common knowledge" in psychology. And his qualifications are sketchy - did he go to school in Chicago, in Maryland, or in India? It isn't clear. There is absolutely no reason to use this doctor when there are better options available in the area that can be accessed by public transportation.
very good caring doctor
Dr. Chandra saved my life. He actually listens to you. I was at the end of my rope. I was hopeless. With Dr. Chandra's help I feel better than I have felt in 20 years. I have my life back and my husband has his wife back. He didn't give up on me when I wanted to give up on myself. I highly recommend him to anyone.
Terrible experience. Left his office worse than when I entered. If I needed someone to judge me I wouldn't pay to see a psychiatrist. As a mental health professional myself I honestly have no idea how he is still allowed to practice. Very unfortunate that this is happening, especially in an area with so little resources to begin with.
Dr. Chandra apparently has better things to do than talk to patients. At my last visit, he did not ask me how I was or any questions at all. I had issues I needed to talk about, but he was out the door before I could speak. He refilled my prescriptions that aren't helping and left. One minute tops. Why doesn't a psychiatrist with 39 years experience have admitting privileges at any hospitals? Wouldn't recommend this doctor unless you haven other choice. Like me.
Dr. Chandra is the worst psychiatrist I've seen in over 20 years of experience with the mental health care system. At my appointments, the nurses basically take my vital signs and ask any questions. Then the doctor comes into the room for less than 60 seconds. He doesn't ask me any questions and he rarely changes my medications even though I feel suicidal every day. He doesn't ask me if I have any side effects or questions for him. I am looking for a new psychiatrist now, but live in an underserved area. Plus I am very depressed and unmotivated. I could not in good conscious recommend Dr. Chandra to anyone who is suffering. Maybe someone in maintenance, but not someone in dire need.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
