Dr. Collins is an excellent Doctor and a wonderful person. She listens, is knowledgeable, and always shows care and concern.

Dr. Collins was my primary and friend for 25 years until I moved to South Carolina. I miss her sooo much and think about her often!! I'm having to train my doctors down here, not to mention I almost lost my right leg to one of their orthopedic surgeons that came with all kinds of glowing reports....NOT!! He doesn't get them from me that's for sure! Hope this finds you, Dr. Collins, the kiddos, and the grand-kiddos all healthy and happy! Love and miss you Linda Webb

Dr. Collins is one of the best, most personable doctors I’ve ever met. I’m 65 and have met many doctors in my life.

Forget her. She could care less about old folks. It’s that simple. We have had it with her bad attitude towards our elderly Mother. She doesn’t help a bit and never ordered tests for Mother and thanks to her non interventionist attitude our Mother ended up in the hospital and came close to dying. Furious here! We finally found a very nice MD who does care and ordered tests and now Mom is doing better. Collins doesn’t do anything if she thinks a person is too old. And that’s morally wrong. So we will be informing anyone who listens to stay clear of Dr Kathleen Collins.

I have been seeing Dr. Collins since she first arrived in town. Just recently, I had an in person visit after a teleconference back in April. I was explaining how frustrated I was over still having shortness of breath and no energy. I also had a charley horse in my right leg and my ankles were swollen. I was wearing a Zio heart monitor after a stress test and other tests which were not showing a possible cause for my symptoms. She ordered blood work and said she’d call me that evening or the next morning. An hour after I had been home, I got a call from her nurse that she was working with Aetna on approval for a CAT scan to check for some blood clots. Ten minutes later I was told to go to Christie on University where I would have the exam. The heart monitor had to be removed but there was enough information to return it. On the x-ray table I said that if I had a clot, it would be in my right leg. After the test, I was informed I had to wait for the results. Then I was called to the phone to talk to Dr. Collins who informed me that I had four embolisms in my right lung and I needed to report to the hospital for further testing and treatment. I explained that I had to go home first so I could box up the monitor and arrange for my friend to check on my cat. After a brief discussion, I decided to go to OSF since I’ve always gone there. Three doctors asked how Dr. Collins knew what my problem could be and why she ordered the bloodwork she chose. I was put on Eliquis. The next day an ultrasound showed that my right leg was the source of the lung embolisms —larger one in my groin and behind my knee. An Echo showed my heart has not been affected by this. I cannot give Dr. Collins enough praise for her ability to diagnose correctly—and quickly. She refers her patients to specialists when needed. But, what I appreciate the most is her personal contact, care, and concern with giving you test results. I have received the phone calls with the results and plans of actions all before I ever leave the testing area. I recall after having an ankle rebuilt and going into the surgery with the thinking I’d be showing dogs that year. That was in 1991 and showing dogs again didn’t happen. I worse a brace for years. After that, Dr. Collins suggested I expect the worst so I could deal with whatever happens. This worked the best when I had a biopsy for breast cancer. I tried to tell family and friends that it was cancer but they thought I was being pessimistic. I was able to handle the diagnosis that I had breast cancer while others couldn’t. I practice this belief in more than just medical issues. Besides being my doctor I consider her a friend.

Doctor Collins saves my life twice ! Both heart issues and identifying a problem before it happened! 1blood clots in lungs 2. Artery completely plugged below the widow maker! This community is blessed and I can and have great treatment possibilities ! When I travel the globe , she is watching! WE ARE BLESSED! Bob cook

She saved my life Blood clots in lungs if she and daughter wouldn't have pushed me to get cat scan I would be dead today!!!! I have been to many outstanding doctors and hospitals She is great and I thank her with my life!!!
