List of MIngtao Wang's Reviews
I spent way more time seeing Dr. Wang than I should have. Poor bedside manner, this doctor thinks he knows more than my specialist up in Chicago. One time he tried to gaslight me into taking a medication notorious for weight gain saying "the pill has no calories, it won't make you gain." That's not how it works, that's not how anything works.
I saw my Primary back in early 2016 regarding some irrational behavior patterns of mine. The problem was I could not stop them. my Primary Dr.I admitted me to the 5th floor. After discharge I continued seeing a counselor for several months. In 2019 my brain was sick again with behaviors that I knew were irrationional -I admitted myself again to OSF. I started at OSF seeing a different counselor -wasn't working. I started hearing voices and they seemed so real. They only happened (at night) and only in my home. I was not sleeping at all. I had no brakes when these behaviors would start. Thinking was way off the charts. My psychiatrist told me I probably had a certain type of dementia called Lewy Body Dementia. He told me to go see Dr. Wang. Dr. Wang saved my life. I was allergic to 1 of my meds —possible side effect—hearing voices. None of my other Dr.s saw this possibility. Dr. Wang saved my life and possibly my marriage. I am so grateful for this Dr.
I was scared when my Dr referred me to neurologist but, I must say he was one of the kindest doctors I’ve ever met. He took time and gave me a thorough physical and listen to me and my concerns. He answered all my questions and when I left I knew I was in good hands.
My husband has had seizures for the past 6 years before seeing Dr. Wang. Before that he was seen by a Neurologist who was extremely rude and then told him that she only had one more suggestion of medication and if that didnât stop the seizures there was nothing more she could do for him and heâd have to be put on disability. Well of course trying to avoid that we had to lie to her about his seizures the medication would at least make the seizures somewhat predictable but still nothing can prepare someone from feeling so helpless seeing someone they love suffer through the memory loss and the toll they would take on his body. After having inner ear problems he had to go through all the testing again so we thought it might be a good time to explore our options and see if there was more out there for him or if he really had reached the optimal amount of medication a person is allowed. We were referred to Dr. Wang by the ear nose throat specialist. Walking into his office it seems he doesnât have the most up to date equipment but I feel thatâs what makes him so good at what he does. Instead of just having random tests run he sat down and we went over my husbandâs health history he asked questions we were never asked before and he listened to every word we said and followed with another question built from that answer. He then prescribed an older medication and scheduled blood testing a week later to see if my husband was taking the correct dosage according to his body weight. Turns out he needed three times the amount he was being prescribed by the other neurologist. Heâs not over weight by any means but obviously the previous neurologist was only up with the new medications and not familiar with one of the first medications to ever come out for seizures. Anyway itâs been two years now seizure free. Thank you Dr. Wang for saving our family with a 3 year old and a 1 year old I couldnât imagine trying to replace one of our salaries with a disability check. Now we can provide the type of lifestyle we wish for our little family.
Lazy - not willing to spend time trying to solve a problem that's not in his easy reference textbook. Not much empathy. Also, very outdated equipment.
I was referred after having my son and having burning pain in my glutes and hips. Dr. Wang ordered imaging and did emg. He diagnosed me with restless leg syndrome because i couldn't sit in one position for very long. He wanted to put me on and off meds until one worked. I said no. He convinced me to do IV steroids which he coupled with iv toradol. He ordered this for 3 days. After the 2nd day I told him my ears were ringing. He said it would go away after a couple of days. It's been a year now and it never went away. I finally got a real diagnosis and treatment in Indianapolis. I had a dislocated tailbone from my son's delivery.
Dr. Wang, always has time to sit and listen to you. By listening to me, and not telling me what I feel, he was able to find out what was really wrong with me beside treating the problems I came to him for. He is a very good person and Doctor. I would recommend him highly.
I have been a patient of Dr. Wang for a little over a year. When I first came to Dr. Wang, I had several symptoms that were rather vague and hard to describe. Dr. Wang began a systematic series of tests to eliminate possible causes before settling on a diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease. After the diagnosis began a period of finding the right combination and dosage of medication that would work for me. I have always found Dr. Wang to be a very concerned and competent professional who listens to me as a patient. He has always focused on helping me to improve the quality of my life. Based on the care I have received from him, I would have to say that he has definitely helped me to manage all that goes with my diagnosis.
Very good and I would highly recommend to anyone.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
