I’ve seen a few psychiatrists in the past, but this is the first time I’ve felt like I’m not just a diagnosis or a checklist. From the moment I found their website, things just made sense. It was easy to book online (no back-and-forth phone tag), and I liked being able to read everything upfront, including pricing, treatment options, and what to expect. That level of honesty stood out. The office itself is calm and modern, and their location in Lincoln Park is easy to get to. But what really mattered to me was how I was treated. My psychiatrist actually listened - not in a performative way, but in a “let’s figure this out together” kind of way. It didn’t feel rushed. It felt like they wanted to understand me. What’s also rare is how much flexibility they offer - I could do telehealth or come in person. They offer TMS and even ketamine if needed... but they don’t push anything. They talk through all the options with you. I was given access to their ketamine program, and they even let me try a TMS session. I didn’t expect much from it, but it genuinely lifted my mood that day... kind of like the mental clarity I get from a strong cup of coffee, but smoother, steadier, and without the crash. It was subtle but noticeable, and I appreciated being able to experience that firsthand. And for people like me who are out-of-network or paying themselves, the pricing is fair and clearly explained. The admins also deserves credit. They respond quickly, they’re respectful, and they don’t lose your messages in the void. I’ve honestly had a smoother experience here than I have at most doctor offices.

I have been receiving treatment from Able Psychiatry for one year now. I visit with my therapist Ashley weekly and have also undergone ketamine therapy in conjunction with talk therapy. This combination along with the amazing staff and service that is provided at Able has effectively aided in dealing with my lifelong depression, PTSD and other ailments brought on by childhood and early adult trauma. I cannot possibly put into words the positive impact that the staff at Able Psychiatry has had on my life. They’ve always been welcoming , kind, understanding, flexible and fair. They have always openly communicated with me and made sure that I understood how billing works and what my payment would be. If you’re considering a visit here I would strongly recommended that you schedule your appointment and take the steps necessary to receive the amazing help that they offer there.

I had a two star review because my providers were great. However I have to make this a one star review because of their business practices. I regret ever being a patient here due to the stress it has caused me and because they continue to bully me. Please go elsewhere.This organization just committed a HIPPA violation against me in their reply here on a public forum. I never said they can’t respond, but they had no right to share the specific details that they did. They have since edited it to remove my PHI, but their rebuttal otherwise remains disingenuous. Seriously, just go elsewhere. Absolutely none of this was worth the stress and abuse.

This practice does not list emails or phone numbers on its website, making it impossible to reach someone. You have to fill out forms galore to get any kind of canned response. Doctors leave without telling patients. With a regular appointment scheduled, they were unable to refill a long-held prescription before the regular appointment. While we liked our mental health providers, we had a bad experience with the administration/operation of this practice. It felt more like a racket than a place to seek mental health help.

Saw me for three weeks, then sneakily tried to charge me a grand for pyschiatry consultation. Claiming it was a talk therapy, which is not what I asked for or scheduled. Now they're sending collections after me. Stay away, please. EDIT: Provoking patients and lying in a response to a valid bad review looks fantastic for your business and office. Pathetic attempts to extort money out of patients by lying about copay fees.

$300+ for a <1 hr session. ridiculous

So far I have had all wonderful experiences. I like their mindset of working long term to get patients prescribed with medication that addresses their problems while also having almost no side effects. Previous doctors I have worked with have made me live with major side effects if a medication worked in most intended ways, but Dr. Sallaj doesn't settle for that.

I appreciate the services I've received at Able Psychiatry. They are very knowledgeable, and provide courteous and efficient service.
