I’ve had nothing but great experiences at American Dental Ltd in the Loop. I’m not a fan of going to the dentist and could definitely be better about my dental hygiene, but Dr. McDevitt and her team are always so compassionate, kind, and understanding. They truly make the experience feel much less stressful and anxiety-driven. I recently had a toothache on a Friday, and they were able to get me in the same day to make sure everything was okay. That level of care and responsiveness means so much. Thank you, Dr. McDevitt, for all that you do!

TERRIBLE BUSINESS! THEY WILL SCAM YOU! My insurance has been fighting with them for months about them overcharging me $350 when they still owe me a $125 refund. They refuse to answer any emails or phone calls from me or my insurance company and my insurance has filled an official legal complaint against this company. They had a debt collection letter sent to me when they owe me a refund, confirmed multiple times by the health insurance company. This dental office SCAMS customers!!

I was very disappointed to have a cancellation fee sent to a debt collection agency for missing an appointment that had been scheduled six months earlier. I never received any email or notification about the fee beforehand, which reflects poor management and a profit-first approach rather than patient care.

I went to this dentist to get one filling done because they were the first office that came up on Google. Instead, I was told I had six cavities, which immediately raised red flags for me. I get routine cleanings every six months at my family dentist, and it had only been three months since my last cleaning, where I was told I had zero cavities. To suddenly be diagnosed with six was shocking. When I asked questions, I was told that my “type of cavities” would not show up on X-rays and could only be seen in the photos they took, which made me even more skeptical. I told the office that I wanted to wait before scheduling any fillings, and the dentist responded in a rude and condescending tone, saying, “Is there a reason why you don’t want to schedule a filling? Just asking because you're gonna end up having to get them filled anyway.” I was very uncomfortable by this interaction. I have never been spoken to so unprofessionally in a dental office. Despite telling them three separate times that I did not want to schedule with them, they continued to pressure me to book appointments. To be safe, I went back to my family dentist for a second opinion. It turns out I had only ONE cavity, and the rest were simply stains, which are natural and not cavities at all. On top of this, they told me I grind my teeth and immediately tried to sell me a night guard costing over $600, which was not covered by insurance, without any real discussion or evidence. This experience felt extremely pushy, misleading, and money-driven. I’m very glad I trusted my instincts and got a second opinion. I would strongly recommend others do the same before agreeing to unnecessary and expensive treatments here.

My consultation went great. The female endontist on my first appointment to do part my root canal was awesome!! But when I saw a different endontist to finish it, was not great. That area is hurting, and can not open up my mouth without pain and the tooth has a jagged edge not smooth and my tongue get scraped.

Great practice. Dr. M is caring, and has not only oral health, but comfort in mind. Deep cleaning is, admittedly, not a pleasant experience, but professionalism is top notch. You have a long term patient.

Scam place, they will try to upsell you deep cleaning and will lie to you, claiming that insurance will pay for it (which it won't). They will charge you $960 for deep cleaning ($240 per quadrant) and insurance will not cover this. Go to a family dentist, do NOT go to this place.
