Ami P. Desai, Md's Online Review Report Card

I switched to Dr. Desai when my previous doctor, in the same practice, changed to a concierge physician ($2500 charge). She is friendly and doesn't rush you. Her exam for people in Medicare and supplemental insurance consists of blood pressure, listening to your heart through your clothing, and blood work. She did not review anything with me, even though I should be getting a colonoscopy soon. When I had excruciating pain in my hip, she did not order an X-ray. She asked me to stand on one leg and pronounced my hip sound. After eight months of intense pain, I demanded an X-ray and needed a total hip replacement. I had to wait 90 minutes for her so, for my next appointment, I made sure I got the first appointment of her day. I still waited 45 minutes. She told me she's also going concierge ($3000) so I asked if I would be getting a more comprehensive exam then. She said no, she would be focusing on nutrition and wellness. She ought to know I'm a very healthy eater and very healthy. After the appointment, she messaged that I'm pre-diabetic but "Don't worry about it and eat less sugar." I don't even eat sugary things. I AM worried about it and I'm going to find a doctor who can help me with it!

Absolutely, positively THE BEST doctor I ever had. When I became a new patient, she went line by line through my records and discussed what was important and needed to be followed up on and what could wait. She discussed both issues and options. She is thorough but she doesn't panic. Lab work is done right in her office. I have moved to Florida and MISS HER! I need her reliable advice. Don't take her for granted ... there are not a lot like her out there!

Dr. Desai is the kindest and most competent doctor I have ever met. When I was having a rough time with a medical issue, she is the only doctor who called me up just to see how I was doing. I am grateful and lucky to have such an outstanding doctor.

There is no word that can describe how great she is. I wish I could go to her for all my medical related issues. Not only she's a knowledgeable doctor, but also she has a strong work ethic. Thank you Dr Desai. You are the best. I wish all doctors were like you, professional, ethical and compassionate.

I've been a patient of Dr Desai for years. She is smart, curious, caring and dedicated. Also, I've never once felt that she puts herself or her practice/business before my well-being. That's rare and I feel really lucky to have found her.

I have been a patient of Dr.Desai’s for over 5 years and think she is wonderful. She takes the time to listen to her patients, give thorough exams, and even calls you on her day off to give you test results and check in. She is the BEST!!

Best Doctor ever

I met Dr Ami Desai while she was doing hospital rounds in her residency almost 9 years ago. I was inpatient and was having a very difficult time as I had several health issues at that time. No doctor wanted to touch me and when I informed her of the problems that I was having finding a good doctor and she happily took me on as a patient. We have had our ups and downs throughout the years and my health has had ups and down but she never gave up on me. I never gave up on her either. She was very instrumental in getting me healthy and her bedside manner is absolutely wonderful. She genuinely cares for her patients and does listen to your concerns. Great Doctor to have!
